A hidden gem, we were on holiday in Copenhagen for a week and had lunch and dinner all over the capital. Garden is in a different league.
Everywhere was booked up on saturday night in July 2025. We found a 15 minute slot at the Garden. A few minutea later when we had looked at other venues we were surprised to find the restaurant was fully booked. We booked the next slot at 8:30.
When we arrived there were only three tables eating and an empty restaurant, what is wrong with the online booking system? My advice, just turn up, the place is amazing and probably empty due to a faulty booking system (until they fix it).
This place is the best eatery in Copenhagen for atmosphere, ambience, quality of ingredients, flavour combinations and a family meal.
The menu was limited so we went for catch of the day. Sensational Ling with peas and carrots, cooked to perfection and finshed with a very tasty sauce.
Our daughter had ricotta ravioli with languistines in a lobster bisque - exquisite 😋.
This place has a chef who knows how to cook simple locally sourced ingredients to perfection, with new flavour combinations with food which has a low carbon footprint.
Well done, when we come back this place will be at the top of the list for a return visit.
No pushy waiters, they know when to turn up. Respectful.
For all you foodies, this is a place which does not overpower the delicate flavours of some ingredients with too much salt, pepper, chilly, sugar, butter ... get the picture. Go enjoy the finest food...
Read moreWe were recommended this place by friends, and came for a birthday dinner as the place seemed to offer a high quality experience. We went for a four course fish menu, and the whole experience was a disappointment from start to end and not worth even half the price we paid. Maybe they had a really bad night, maybe this is the normal, we don’t know but we’re certainly not coming back. We started with cocktails that were completely out of balance and not even cold. Then food started coming in, every dish dull, plain and boring. One “dish” (out of 4) consisted of more or less 5 asparagus with some ruccula salt and pepper, the least creative restaurant dish we ever had. Then the main dish came - a hard, tasteless chunk of cod with a decent whine sauce and bitter, poorly cooked and unpeeled white asparagus. Dessert was okay. Staff were friendly but unprofessional and unorganized, they could not even bother to walk around our table to place the plates on the tables themselves but were handing us plates to serve ourselves, and offered us nothing in compensation when we complained about the food quality. The only highlight was the wine and the tap beer. Not worth a visit and honestly...
Read moreWe had 7 course menu. Starters:Stracciatella was very delicious, fresh and light but truffle chips seem to be just regular oily store baught chips with truffle taste. Beef tartar had a really nice taste but it was impossible to chew it. We didn't understand the super thinly sliced regular grandma house (sorry but for a restaurant?) white bread with no-taste cream that came with it. Main:Both braised pork jowls and fish lacked salt, otherwise pleasant dishes but nothing special to them. Desert:mazarin cake, lacked contrasting sour taste. Cream, dough and jam were all too sweet. Not enough space in the restaurant, a lady's menu cought on fire because it's such a small table with an open flame on it. People struggling to pass by. Toilets are not fully renovated, bad music and lights are shining directly in your face. Uncomfortable seating. Owners should definitely think about this part of the restaurant. Food in general was good but not something you'd come...
