My boyfriend and I went with our son for lunch this past 1st of september, we were received by a Italian waitress. we were offer a spot in a large table , between a family of 4 and a couple of girls in the other end, we were told we had to had our son sit on our lap (eventhough there was space for a chair for our son.....) but we agreed on it, so we won´t get into detail with this issue. righ after we ordered food, our son went to floor and we went out to the street and inside a couple of times, when we sat our son saw the neighbour´s croissant and he wanted one himself ( he is 2 years old). My boyfriend who is Italian as well, went to the italian waitress and asked if he could please have a croissant for our son so he would be entertained until the food arrived, the answer of the waitress turned our sunday completely down: "You have to be sit at the table....." it felt like she didn´t want to spend a single second building any link of link with us and she wanted us quiet at the table. we felt our son was very little welcome.....children do not have a switch on/off button so you cannot force them to stay sit, maybe the croissant would have helped more than her arrogance? eventhough our son wasn´t behaving bad we decided to leave the place. We could have understood a misunderstanding if the waitress was from another nationality and we were speaking a different language....but it was a same language conversation. We don´t understand how Christian Puglisi, who is so careful with food and the cozy atmospheres in his restaurants cannot have a closer look on his staff.....we eat out very ofter and we have never experience such a low, low level of service PS, the place just in front is much more child friendly (for future...
Read moreI was curious about this place since I had visited Relae a few years back and it was one of the best experience I ever had and I still remembered the sourdough bread which was one of the best sourdough bread I had eaten in my life. So I was very excited to see what they had on offer.
The place seems more like a small bistro. There is an intimate atmosphere and you can see what is going on in the bakery which is very cool.
We ordered the Scambled Egg (with the Nduja butter) and Sourdough Bread, the Beef Tartare and a Granita with the Brioche Col Tuppo.
The scrambled egg was great, creamy, tasty, just perfect. I had high expectations for the bread and although it was good, it wasn’t as good as I remembered from Relae. The Tartare was amazing and one of the best tartare I ever had. It has great taste but also very nice texture with crunchiness in it which is quite unusual, but makes the experience so much better. I would definitely recommend that Tartare. To finish, I had heard great things about the Brioche and was excited to try it, unfortunately, it was very average. I think briche is one thing italian’s have never mastered. I tastes ok, but it’s just that… an almost...
Read moreI went today with my wife. We paid 420 DKK for one brunch, one eggs benedict and two coffees. When I asked for more of their delicious white bread, the waitress defiantly sighed and brought me more of their not so delicious rye bread. When I pointed out the misunderstanding, she became visibly annoyed and rolled her eyes at us. Then came back and slammed the bread hard down into the table in front of us. Needless to say no tips where awarded. As for the brunch, it was good quality, but not offering a very big variety off food e.g. no fruits or pastries. I found it expensive for what was offered. The eggs Benedict was just a liquid mas of eggs and hollandaisesauce om top of a salat and a far too thick slice of their plain rye bread. My wife was not very impressed. Overall I do not recommend the place. I would choose some of the other great places...
