Orangeriet — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

An oasis inside the Royal Gardens, and a respite to a dreary, grey winter day. The large scale wall paper with botanical motifs on the well lit dining room adds greenhouse overtones that are pleasing and festive. The holiday touches on the main center table were well done. I also like the inner rooms with those large Audubon-like prints, and the complimentary textiles on the sofas.

We had the chicken salad, the confit the canard, a curry ferring and the ubiquitous plaice with shrimp, all satisfying to our hearty appetites. Event though the service was professional and we were the last table to be served, the preparation of these dishes took an unusual long time. Though we enjoyed the food and presentation, the lethargic pace in their arrival put a damper on the experience. With sparkling water and sodas, the cost for lunch was around $38.00 per person, which was a welcome relief compared to other meals in Copenhagen.

Orangeriet is a lovely romantic restaurant in Kings Garden. They have an outside seating area surrounded by trees and the sound of birds singing where they serve snacks and drinks and an inside restaurant. We only had drinks and snacks outside and the service was very friendly. I think it’s a French restaurant. The view of the park is lovely in all kinds of weather and when the sun is shining, the garden terrace is open. the pavillion that houses the restaurant, was built after a huge fire in copenhagen in 1795, where a large part of the garden was bestowed to the city as plots...

Hi, we have just had a lovely lunch here but I am posting this to warn people about the fact that we were rushed throughout. We arrived early for our 14:45 booking. The last booking is 15:00 . Our reservation informed us that the table was ours for 2 hours. Unfortunately the waitress kept informing us that the kitchen was closing imminently. We were asked to choose our desserts while still eating our main course, and were approached repeatedly with messages about the imminent closure of the restaurant.
