I came from the UK to visit Gasoline Grill (amongst other non-burger Danish venues) and I can safely say it was one of the highlights of the trip. So much so that we returned to the other location a few days later.

Initially hearing about it because one of Meatliquor’s founders had rated it one of the best burgers in Europe, I continued to read nothing bad about the place besides scary things regarding the queue and waiting times. Thankfully this was fairly unfounded - we queued for maybe 20 minutes (taking the time to dither over what we wanted, and gazing hungrily at the food we could see people enjoying) and, besides that, it was a pleasant enough day. Service was friendly despite the busyness and swift once we reached the front of the queue and the menu easy to comprehend as it was in English. Oh, except the water where I had to frantically google which was carbonated (disgusting), and which was still (better). They also offer a decent selection of beer.

They took a name and we were asked to wait outside for it to be called. This took maybe a further 10 minutes which we spent just staring at people who’d had the forethought to save seats for their friends.

Prices are comparable to Five Guys in the UK. Not as cheap as McDonalds but cheaper than Byron. This reflects the small establishment and the limited outside seating. We went to a little park behind the restaurant and ate on a bench. A table would’ve been handy, but we made do with spilling food all over the floor.

This is a juicy burger indeed. I went for a standard cheeseburger and oil and juices were flowing. Thankfully you’re supplied with an adequate number of napkins and a wet wipe.

Despite the messiness, the burger holds together well, maintaining integrity until the last bite. The wouldn’t be the case a few days later where I had the Butter Burger because I wondered what it was - it essentially is the same as a cheeseburger with the addition of a huge hunk of butter added on. Delicious but I didn’t like to think of the calorie content!

They do a range of fries, and a range of salts to go with these. I think it must be a Danish thing but I found it way too much salt, having to shake it off the fries before dipping into Gasoline Sauce (not as gross...

I am absolutely furious and disgusted. My brother and I found pieces of bone baked right into the burger patty. We didn’t bite into something hard — the bones were inside the meat. At first, we weren’t sure what to do, so we continued eating cautiously, trying to understand what it was. We didn’t go to the staff right away because we genuinely didn’t know how to react. Eventually, we brought the bone pieces to the counter. Their response was ridiculous. First, they told us it was “some fat from the grinder.” Then, after taking a closer look, they admitted it might be bone. Still, they refused to give us a refund, saying that since we had "eaten" the burgers, they couldn't do anything other than offer a free drink and some fries. We didn’t even finish the burgers — the patties were so unpleasant we ended up throwing them away. To make things worse, we don’t have photos of the bones because we handed them directly to the staff, and the girl behind the counter just tossed them onto the kitchen floor. Unbelievable. This is both dangerous and negligent. Serving food with bone fragments is a serious health hazard and shows a complete lack of quality control. Someone could easily break a tooth or choke. Their response was careless, their attitude dismissive, and the experience was unacceptable from start to finish. I will never come back — and I strongly advise others to stay away. This place needs to take responsibility, improve its food safety, and stop treating serious complaints like they...

Overrated in my opinion.

We actually went to the smaller branch the night before (near Stroget) and saw how small it was and packed. So we walked to this one, and when we got there they were all out of burgers.

In fact, their signage says: Open till sold out. So beware - you may experience what we did and go there thinking the place is still open but only to find out they’re sold out.

The next day, we went back, and as expected there was a line. But at least they still had burgers.

Not a lot of seats. The atmosphere is not great. In fact, there was a resident homeless person hanging out by the seats of the patrons. She knew the staff of Gasoline, and sat by the benches. What ruined the experience was that she’d ask all the diners before leaving if they could hand over to her the bottles and cans. Moreover, she even asked my mother to remove the labeling on my mom’s mineral water before giving it to her. Insane.

I understand she needs to make money from recycling, but I wish she didn’t have to sit there like she was eating also, and then pounce on the diners when they’re finished. She also was smoking BTW (I had a kid with me).

The burgers were good but not great. Maybe because it’s difficult to buy them, or maybe the ambiance (or lack of) - whatever it was, I didn’t enjoy my time there.

Maybe the place is popular because of the Netflix show, “Somebody Feed Phil” but in any case, it isn’t worth...

A solid North American–style burger in a fun Copenhagen setting I had been looking forward to trying this place after seeing a video on YouTube. I love the whole concept behind the Gas Station burger joint — a stylish nod to North American burger culture — and they definitely nail the vibe. As a North American myself, surrounded by some of the best burgers in the world back home, it’s always a fun experience to try the European take on a “classic” burger. But I’ll be honest: most of the time, it ends up feeling like a much more expensive version of a budget comfort food I already have access to regularly. That said — this one was a standout. If you’ve never had a proper North American–style burger and you’re in Copenhagen, this is a fantastic place to start. I had a soft, fresh buttered brioche bun, sharp orange cheddar, a classic burger sauce (think Big Mac style), sweet pickles, and a perfectly grilled, pink, juicy patty. Super well-balanced and satisfying. Final thoughts: Is it a revelation for someone from the U.S. or Canada? Probably not. But it’s a damn good version of a familiar classic, done with care and quality ingredients. If you’re craving a legit burger in Copenhagen, this place will definitely hit the spot.
