Mediocre, underwhelming, and slow-service. If you're used to Thai cuisine and visiting one in Copenhagen, this isn't it. I feel bad for the waitress that graciously helped our table. She and another waiter was the only one manning the whole restaurant while this bossy & rude female manager was telling them what to do which she looked pretty flustered herself. The restaurant is located in the basement of Radisson blu hotel. The dining area is dark, cramped, and feels "cold". The waitress like I mentioned did her best to be helpful which she did. She's the only shining star in this sad restaurant. The food portion was small and very slow to come out. While we were warned that the spareribs would take long, we didn't expect that it would take almost an hour to come out. The rest of the dish was equally as slow. The only fast dishes to come out was the soups. The curries and satay took as much time as the spareribs. Their Thai tea looked very watered down, not the type we're used to in Los Angeles.
Entrees as I've mentioned was mediocre and all dishes practically tasted the same. The bangkok soup and Tom Kha Kai however, were the standout but very plain in the grand-scheme of things.
It took 2.5 hours for us to finish our dinner. As we asked for the bill and boxes for takeaway, It was the manager that came to help us, I asked if I can order another takeaway of bangkok soup to which she replied with a face "It will take long!" I said that's fine as it's for my 3 year old daughter who was not able to join us for dinner because she fell asleep due to jetlag. She said she'll just call our room when the food is ready. As i packed the remainder of the dish for my wife and sis-in-law, I asked for utensils from that crazy asian manager and she said "no utensils, no spoon and fork". I was so perplexed that the restaurant wouldn't have it. As I walked towards the counter, the waiter asked what I needed, I asked for plastic spoon and fork and he was happy to pack it for me, as he was preparing it, here comes the crazy asian manager and asked "what do you need?" I then replied again "utensils for the takeway, if you don't have it, chopsticks then". She replied with "Yes, we have chopsticks" to which I asked for 4 pcs of it. I saw her go to the waiter who i saw was wrapping the plastic spoon and fork with napkins and she scolded him by saying "not spoon and fork! chopsticks only!!!". This is so surprising that restaurants like this are operated in a hotel chain, Radisson should just either fire this lady or close the restaurant down for bad food/service.
After 30 minutes, they called my room to say the bangkok soup was ready. I was able to pick it up within a few minutes and guess what? They didn't give me utensils to use for my daughter, I just ended up using the coffee spoon in the room.
My verdict? Don't eat here. Eat at the other Italian restaurant upstairs or just take a taxi to another restaurant so you don't have to deal with the...
Read moreVery lovely and cozy Place in the hotel. Dark Wood and bamboo decoration And Friendly and helpfull staff and very good helpful waiters. We Got everything with good timing and got the correct orders. To be honest the starters Were nothing special and very ordinary. Chicken satay was too dry and tuff for my taste. Marinating it for 24-48 hours to make it more juicy and using a better quality chicken would make it much better. Satay sauce was nice with a hint of lemon grass. spring roll very ordinary and a little dry. Putting raw minced meat with the vegetables and glass nOodles would make them better. Adding sesame oil or White pepper could also make them better (with risk of tasting Chinese though) or adding coriander or spring onion would also be nice. The corn in those tartelet looking items was a little corny. 😛. All main courses were just very tasteful and delicious. All meats were soft and juicy and sauces well balanced in all tastes and flavors. We had seared spicy lamb, green curry beef, som tam and caramelized duck. Clearly the meat quality was much better than many other Thai places. Accompanied by steamed rice and sticky rice. All recommendable and all matching the chosen wine very well. We drank the chateau roc st. Michel st. Emilion grand gru 2014 and it was surprisingly well paired with the main courses especially with the sweet Thai basil. A little pricy compared to other Thai restaurants but worth it. The starters are the only reason I am not...
Read moreAstonishingly poor service.
Had booked and arrived on time, no-one at the desk with the booking book so waited patiently.
Occasionally the manager would look over in this direction.
Slowly other people arrived, until a queue of four people were waiting to be seated.
The manager dealt with a takeaway, took a couple of takeaway orders on the phone, and during quiet moments would look around the restaurant scowling.
Periodically looking at the queue of people, but not reacting in any way at the patiently waiting customers.
Eventually a harassed waitress, between serving tables, came to see what the guests wanted.
Upon checking the booking she started leading me in, at which point the manager scowled, loudly proclaiming she was waiting for a group of 5 people and was full.
Upon being informed I had a booking, she scowled again, and angrily gestured at an empty table.
The helpful and friendly waitress prepared the table and showed me to the seat with a menu.
20 more minutes later, with no sign of an order being taken (which appeared to be the case at multiple tables), I left.
The place looked lovely, but the unpleasant attitude and disdainful approach displayed by the manager was astonishing.
I have no idea about the food as 30 minutes essentially ignored for a pre-booked table was too...
