Bar y Rest. El Malecón de María — Restaurant in Higüey

I've been stopping by Maria's for 3 years now. Usually, while hanging out with friends from the dive shop next door. Every day she prepares a meat dish, with beans and rice for lunch and dinner. When it's gone it's gone so get there when people start lining up. They've expanded to a full bar. The menu has hamburgers, tacos, chicken etc. Tables and chairs sit on the sidewalk and there's never a dull moment. From tour busses loading and unloading party boat passengers, people strolling down the road to a from the beach just steps away, good people watching spot. The staff are friendly, attentive. I do like the breakfast there, yucca and eggs or mangu. Mmmm. Eat there, to go, or delivery. Can't wait to get back, I need that Santo Domingo coffee and slow down and...

Found this place on the right walking to beach in El Corteceito. We enjoyed several times chicken/rice/beans plate of the day. Friendly family spot. Nice spot to grab drinks on the way as well. Used to be a juice bar that closed?
