Burger Siglo XIV — Restaurant in Higüey

This restaurant looks ok, with a throne and a badly built no legged knight and chairs with little to no back support, a very cool bathroom ENTRANCE and a sort of medieval theme to the restaurant, well, close enough.

Me and my family decided to sit in the corner at the right of the entrance, we ordered with good enough first impressions and promising menu we ordered 2 cookies and cream milkshakes, some croquetas and a Medieval burger, Jalapeño burger, a Fish burger and a Mushroom burger. First meal arriving was the entrance, 4 croquetas, they were good but nothing special, then the milkshakes arrived and they were super good! It came in a plastic Standard glass with a little lid with a straw hole and we enjoyed it alot, my whole family tried it and they said they loved it! Then the hamburgers arrived, they looked very delicious, the Medieval burger had a rare meat, that I actually ordered well done but it's fine, the Mushroom burger looked good as well as the other burgers. The medieval burger was super good even though it had rare meat, the mushroom burger was good as well, but me and my family do NOT say the same about the Jalapeño Burger and the Fish burger, first of all, the jalapeño burger was EXTREMELY sweet, almost like it had the milkshake poured all over it and they sugar coated it with sprinkles on top and the Fish burger was RAW, the fish in the burger was completely rotten, and the cheese was spoiled, one of my family members had to SPIT OUT the burger with how DISGUSTING it tasted, we took it out of the plate IMMEDIATELY after tasting it, we called service and they just said something to the chef, THEY DIDN'T EVEN TAKE THE BURGER AWAY!! We were so mad that we had to put it in the trash ourselves! It was horrible, the jalapeño burger wasn't any spicy and it was quite the opposite of a jalapeño burger, also with the fact that the bathroom was broken, full of water and employees there made me out even less ambiance stars! Everything was a mess, super horrible restaurant and never coming back AGAIN!! AND THE WORST PART IS that the bill was so high for 4 burgers and 2 edible ones, 2 small milkshakes and 2 coca colas, I crashed out completely! The bill was 7500 DOMINICAN PESOS, which is a complete robbery!! I hope they close this down or atleast give me a refund, I even saw to people that were apparently dating with the plate still full and they were there for 20 minutes!! This really is an insult to my wallet and my taste buds, I hated this restaurant!!

The place is nice, but there are too many flaws. It’s extremely noisy inside because of the air conditioning and ventilation, which, despite all the noise, fail to deal with the smell of burnt oil. It’s cool when a burger place smells like grilled meat, but instead, there’s a strong burnt oil smell that sticks to your clothes and hair. After spending an hour here, you go home still smelling like burnt oil, which means you have to wash your clothes and take a shower.

The burger was quite basic, and the meat was a bit dry. The Buffalo Hot wings had no spices or heat at all, which is just ridiculous. The croquettes were nice, though.

The service is also disappointing. I sat for 8 minutes in a completely empty restaurant waiting for a waiter.

Overall, the design is nice, but the experience was a huge disappointment, both in terms of food and atmosphere. I wouldn’t come back and wouldn’t recommend...
