Nonna's Kitchen - Punta Cana — Restaurant in Higüey

Nonna’s Kitchen was an unforgettable experience. This cozy Italian spot had a simple menu—just three dishes that rotate monthly, wine, and beer—but every bite was incredible.

We started with the focaccia pizza pescatore (shrimp and crab), followed by spaghetti Bolognese and veal portafoglio with prosciutto, mozzarella, and roasted potatoes. The portions were so generous that even as two guys and big foodies, we couldn’t finish everything! A glass of delicious red wine rounded out the meal, and to our surprise, they treated us to complimentary homemade dessert and chocolate liqueur shots at the end.

Beyond the food, the hospitality was exceptional. The staff made us feel like family, learning our names and warmly checking in after each course to hear our thoughts on the meal. After dining at over a dozen restaurants on our trip, this was easily our favorite—and the price was more than reasonable for such a fantastic experience!

Not sure what happened to my first review after our first visit so rewriting. A group of us came by for dinner and the owners and staff were so lovely. We were treated like Royalty. The food was amazing and drinks were good. Everyone in our group enjoyed what they had and some of us ended up taking a doggie bag as servings were fairly large. The owners are from Montreal so no language barrier for us They only take cash at this time so be prepared. We went a 2nd time with a larger group and we were given lots or various different platters to share. Make sure you are hungry, the servings just don't stop Great family-owned restaurant. I had Nonna's special, it's sold as a little of everything on the menu. We'll a little it is not. Starts of with free pizza bread and anti pasta and a free sangria ( not super strong) then a plate of pasta, then wings, potatoes, veal parm Tye menu changes regularly.
