Roberto and Sonia’s restaurant- Il NIDO —in Las Terrenas serves only fresh and delicious food. The Chef- Roberto—uses imported and local ingredients and he —if possible—makes his own pasta. Salads are fresh and the risotto is amazing. Service is great and food is always excellent. I have had their Burrata - the best- the Sonya fresh salad, fish, chicken parmigiana and risotto and for dessert the tiramisu. Always delicious! The Restaurant is closed on Wednesday. (Because there are fewer restaurants in Las Terrenas, you should reserve.) Lunch is less crowded and more relaxed. Il Nido is on the way to Las Ballenas. Its cozy space faces the Atlantic Ocean, so there is always a pleasant breeze. I highly recommend it as one of the best restaurants in Las Terrenas! Credit cards accepted and prices are reasonable. It is so popular that you should reserve but the friendly staff will try to accommodate you. The tiramisu is the best I have...
Read moreCarpaccio was good. The pizza (one con mozzarella and one cone prosciutto) wasn’t that good. The waiter (who seemed the eldest there) was not aware of the pizza types, also of the type of fish used in Carpaccio. Apart from it, I was with a Dominican family of 9 people including 4 kids, and the waitress behaved very weird: she ignored some questions, to some of the questions she was making a wondering face and still did not respond, sometimes she responded in such a way to show that the question was not smart, e.g. she put a closed bottle of beer on the table, when a girl asked for an opener, the waitress looked at her smiling and took out the opener to open it.. then when I asked the bill, she did not respond nothing.. and after waiting for 10-15 I was not sure if she heard me and was about to go search for it… It...
Read moreI couldn’t believe the negative reviews about the long wait times at first – but unfortunately, they are absolutely true. We were a group of three and placed a simple order: one pasta dish, two fish dishes, and a salad. What happened next was unbelievable: nearly 3 hours of waiting, and this in a restaurant that wasn’t even full!
After 3 hours, only the pasta arrived – the fish dishes never came. And then, the worst part: we were told after this ridiculous wait that we wouldn’t be getting the fish at all! Absolutely unacceptable. No apology, no explanation – just complete indifference.
This was, without a doubt, the worst service I’ve ever experienced. If you decide to eat here, be prepared to wait for hours and possibly leave hungry. A clear warning to anyone...
