Jumandy Organic Garden - La Ronda — Restaurant in Centro Histórico

Visiting Quito from Australia and we always like to source out good restaurants. We had been told Jumandy was excellent by a local teacher we happened to meet walking through town. Tried three times to visit and third time lucky - got in! They are open every day so definitely go for lunch. It was full but within 10 minutes we were in. The waiter who was excellent, told us the avocado salad was the best. He was spot on. It was sooo good. I added chicken and the stuffed mushrooms which weee really tasty. Hoy visitamos el restaurante con unos amigos que llegaron de España, lo vimos en Tiktok. Nuestra experiencia en lo personal fue decepcionante por varias razones... En primer lugar los videos te muestran sólo los ángulos bonitos del lugar, sin embargo no todo es así, el lugar es muy estrecho y si está lleno, pues se vuelve algo incómodo. Luego está el hecho de que no tienen una carta con platos como tal, tu debes armarlo lo que sí es una buena idea, sin embargo como gastrónomo y sibarita con más de 10 años de experiencia puedo afirmar que la relación "Calidad - Precio - Cantidad" no está en balance para nada. Con el precio por persona que terminas pagando al final, tranquilamente puedes ir a un restaurante de la categoría de "Los Troncos" o "Carmine" por ejemplo, que son mucho más elegantes, tienen parqueadero y una atención de primera. Eso me lleva al otro punto, el mesero que nos tocó lamentablemente no estaba capacitado para servicio al cliente, los vasos los llevó a la mano y los dejó todos en una esquina para que cada quien los agarre y con los individuales los colocó por donde caigan y los que estábamos en frente incluso los aventó, cuando podía dar la vuelta a la mesa y colocarlos correctamente. Sólo hay un baño compartido para hombres y mujeres, y no estuvo limpio. Por último si pagas con tarjeta te cobran interés a parte, que normalmente en otros restaurantes ya está el valor contemplado. En fin.... El lugar está sobre valorado, el restaurante que queda 1 piso por debajo de éste es mucho mejor en todos los sentidos se llama...

unfortunately our experience with this place is really bad. we were served moldy bread and I understand that it could be a coincidence, but when I pointed it out to the waitress, she said with a smile on her face that it was "salsa verde". making a mistake is one thing, but lying about it is another.
