This hotel is on the second floor of one of the beautiful Italian style hotels on the Corniche in Alexandria. The entrance is off one of the side streets and looms s little sketchy, but the interior of the hotel has s beautiful Italian style. ||Checking in was fine. The desk person spoke a little English. We got a small room with a view of the harbor. ||The rooms are small, and harken back to an older time when travelers shares Bathrooms with the whole hotel. They have done a pretty good job installing a self contained bathroom in our small room. Essentially it was a metal box with beaded glass windows, a toilet and a sink. The whole thing was the shower. Not too bad, but there were no towels in the room.||The beds and pillows were hard. Some folks wouldn't like that, but it'd isn't bother me. I didn't find an air conditioner control, but they have a nice ceiling fan and I stayed cool on a hot night. ||There was a small refrigerator in my room as well as a small tv with satellite. I didn't watch it, so I don't know what channels it had. ||It's an Egyptian hotel and seems to get mostly Egyptian guests these days. So, it's not really a place for picky western travelers. But it's a really good value in an historic hotel with a great, and I do mean great, view of the East Harbor in Alexandria.||It was great for my friend and I who traveled to do an overnight...
Read moreLocated right on the waterfront way Corniche, this place offers a nice balcony view from its rooms (which is a "pretty expansive" view mainly of the Mediterranean Sea straight ahead but also encompassing a part of the city's skyline "to the left" and also the Qaitbay Citadel but just in its "pretty small shape" at some distance across the water), and it's a location "quite central" I would say full of many miscellaneous shops and above all some good places to eat (McDonald's where I had breakfasts at about a 5-minute walk away, and two restaurants called Bazooka & Cafe de la Paix where I had lunches right beside this hotel building but each on an "opposite side" of the building), and yes from this central location is also just like 10-to-15-minute taxi rides to all the "main sites" of the city (Qaitbay Citadel, Roman Theater, Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa & Pompey's Pillar). Also, my "many thanks" are for the manager Salah whose helpfulness & cooperation made my 3-night stay a pleasant one.||||Just a little on the down side with this place for me was my room being "a bit cramped" and some inconvenience of having to walk up the stairs for about two levels of a big heritage building with "high ceilings" (making the stairways here somewhat longer than those in...
Read moreThis hotel exceeded my expectations. I stayed for only two nights and I regret not staying longer.||The location is perfect, right on Cornish. Five minutes walk to Raml station where you can find lots of cafes, restaurants, shops. Alexandria train station is within walking distance as well. Public transportation is available - trams, microbuses, taxis as well as Uber and Careem.||I really loved the room. It was small, but cozy and clean. Extra blankets are available in the wardrobe as it feels cold at night. The room had a balcony with a breathing view of Corniche. Absolutely gorgeous at sunset. I wasn't bothered by noise from the street, if I kept my balcony doors closed I didn't hear it. There was more noise from the reception area.||The staff was friendly and accommodating. In the morning a simple breakfast is served in the room: fresh warm bread, boiled egg, jam, butter, cheese. They don't bring it automatically, so you just have to ask the reception and they bring it within a few minutes. Turkish coffee is for extra charge of 20 EGP, very delicious.||I would definitely stay again at this hotel and recommend to anyone for a...
