Studio Misr — Restaurant in Cairo

A good choice for a family outing. The boat is directly over looking the Nile. You are getting the full experience if you are visiting it in winter as the weather is chilly or cold. We visited the restaurant in summer so the visit was slightly different. outdoor view is still fine only the weather was hot and humidity was high so we reserved a table indoors and it was air conditioned. Speaking of staff, staff is friendly and everybody working there was smiling to the guests doing their job just fine. Food quality is well only the rice (side) was a little bit under cooked but the main dish was grilled (Kofta, Shish tawook and Kebab ) were cooked fine. The main problem with this place is that the indoor especially in summer is always crowded and you are not feeling comfortable at all especially with all the babies crying around you everywhere. The place was extremely noisy due to babies crying, waiters moving around. people talking with a loud voice. it can become intolerable with all the loud voices around you while having your meal.

If you can in winter and sit outdoors to have your lunch. It's going to be well outing to have...

Our local guide recommended this place to us and it was a very authentic experience. We arrived around 12:15 for lunch without knowing it’s approaching the prayer time. One of the staff took our order and tried to explain that we won’t get our food until the prayer was done, but we could not understand what he was trying to say. He asked another service staff who speaks English to help and we finally got it meant that we were going to need to wait for 30 minutes. It’s a great experience getting to be a part of the local culture. We ordered the appetizer sampler, the vine wrap with beef trotter, and grilled beef/lamb. All three dishes were very tasty. The beef trotter was not gamy at all and had a great gelatinous texture. I would highly recommend the appetizer sampler too. It’s got a few cold dishes I don’t know the name of, but we’re so delicious. Oh, forgot to mention the restaurant is on a docked boat on the Neil river, so you get to enjoy the river view without worrying about getting motion...

For me, iftar during Ramadan was an unsuccessful experience for them. The food was less than normal. The service was not good. The set menu was incomplete. Why? Because they wanted to get as many of the customers as possible, regardless of whether they had a vacant place or not. The waiter took us to the top floor to another restaurant. Halaket El Samak, I would like to thank Mr. Sherif, the manager of Halqat El Samak Restaurant. Thank you for the good reception of us, even though we aren’t your customers. As for me, Studio Misr isn't the place I would recommend to anyone in the future if they ask me. I hope that the comment will find its way to those who aspire to have iftar in Studio Misr, a bad experience. And my last message to the restaurant manager, I was not upset about the dessert dish that I didn’t eat 😂and I am not going to tell people about the salad and the bread or the juice that I didn’t get on the set menu even if I paid my full charge...
