AMA SUSHI — Restaurant in Geziret al Zamalik, Jazirat al Zamalik

Shrimp is undercooked, panko breading is mushy and the texture overall is really weird. Yet most of their makis have panko shrimp in them 😟 I am truly afraid I'll get sick from this, so I returned it. They said they remade it but the difference was almost unnoticeable. I paid for it, took it home and cooked the shrimp throughly on my stove. No way I'll eat undercooked shrimp with a mushy panko. The exterior of the maki should have some crunchiness to it, as well yet it's mushy. Just gross.

The GOOD: miso soup was tasty, hot and a good portion. Glass noodles were tasty, but the sauce was a little too sweet and synthetic. The restaurant is in a nook off of the main street so you don't get the full blast of the traffic. Pleasant ambiance. Outdoor and indoor seating. Music is set so you can still talk.

If I were to do this again, I would go to a different sushi spot. Avoid their makis at least. If you've ever had good, creative makis...

Truly the best Asian restaurants I have ever visited. The service is amazing and relatively quick, the tables were clean, the prices were fair for Zamalek and the staff fulfills your every request. We ordered a 12 piece maki platter, Bisc Seafood soup, Tempura Soba, Crab Salad and AMA sashimi. The sashimi was very fresh and tasty. The maki was amazing and the Soup and noodles were great. Portions are bigger than on pictures shown because I took the photos after we had started eating. The only annoyance was that the music was just a bit too loud otherwise everything was fine.

I am shocked this is a branch of AMA's. I ordered a pick-up through the website and went one time to confirm and the other to pick up. The place is super noisy and uncomfortable. The staff seem like they are in a hurry all the time to the level of being rude; one of them saw me coming rushed with the bag to meet me at the door, handed it and went back without a single word. Stress vibes all over the place. As for the food, the salad was nice and thankfully they placed the dressing out as i asked for. The rolls, on the other hand, had very little, not fresh, fishs with almost no sesame.
