U Bistro & Bar — Restaurant in Geziret al Zamalik, Jazirat al Zamalik

This place was recommended by my hotel . They made phone call for arrangement and reservation arrangement. I am very calm civilized person , unfortunately that place did not accept me to enter the bar. They said for couple only, at the same time many single men passed the entrance greeted to get in. Host said they have own table inside. Not only that they give me impression that I am not good enough to get in . I called the bar they said sorry for couples only. As liberal saudis we were criticizing genders segregation for sake of civilization, freedom and imply stronger society values. If you are Egyptian and do not have table in side that place avoid complications going out hitting that bar .After being away from for 20 years, I expected different behavior for entertainment society and so ever . Word for the U bistro & bar owner , if you creating private club you know what to do. You apply bad business concept.I am Speciliazed person in food and beverage and hospitality business , I am sure you applied wrong business style not as civilized world...

Upmarket restaurant with a dress code. Great service and tasty menu at a price.

We were the only guests when we arrived unknowing of the dresscode. My husband wore shorts and we were both wearing tshirts. It could be our ignorance for not checking the standards but we were the only guests, of course it would be bad business to turn us away. Albeit we were hidden away from all roving eyes. The good thing about being furthest away from everyone else is that we were not bothered by smoke, ashtrays are on every table.

Great quality food with a pricetag to boot. As nondrinkers we were surprised to be given a bill for the equivalent of $75 USD. Can't complain the service was excellent and the food was great. They charged us a cover charge, service charge of 12% and a VAT of 14%. It all adds up. As service charge is included we didn't tip. Is...

My wife & I went to the restaurant to celebrate an occasion 2 weeks ago, the place, the atmosphere and the service were great. We ordered sea food soup, Ceasor salad, veal and rack of lamb, of course as usual we shared each other dish and we went home to Sleep. We both wake up in the morning with very bad diarrhea, pain in the stomach and fever, I called my doctor to come over and we were told that there was a germ in the food we ate. We suffered for 4 days straight. This is a hygiene issue , it could happen any where but it could been avoided if they do wash food the right way but most likely it was the veal. What buzzard me The most when I called up the manager to let him know of the incedent to avoid any wrong doing in their process and I was not looking for any compensation but I was not happy with the answer just denied...
