In short - disappointing, low-quality “beach club” in the heart of the Marina. I struggle to actually call it a beach club - it’s more like an open beach with a bar on it and some plastic sun loungers..
// Full context //
I’ll preface this by saying, in fairness, I love beach clubs, and have visited many of the worlds most luxurious ones (Dubai, Mykonos, Ibiza, Tulum). So I am slightly biased and potentially being to harsh considering this is Egypt, not Mykonos. Additionally, I visited during COVID, so it might be different in normal times.
Given this - it’s a pretty poor showing of a beach club. At the entrance you’re “greeted” by 2 guys sitting on the couch on their phones, not the least interested in you. They don’t give you any direction or indication of where to go, where the bar is etc etc.
Obviously that’s not impossible to figure out, but basically you just walk into the place, no one greets you, you need to ask for your own towel, and you can just choose where you find an open spot.
There’s no service at the beach whatsoever. 7 people are working at the bar, none of whom actually work - they just chill at the actual bar. Again, not the worst thing to get your own drinks, but considering the entry price you pay to get in (varies between 200-300 LE), it’s expensive for Egyptian standards so you’d expect better service.
Sun loungers are just old, cheap, plastic ones. It all just kinda screams “cheap” at you. Again, that’s fine as it is Egypt, standards shouldn’t be as high, but it’s hard to then justify the entry price of 200-300 LE (which is the equivalent of paying 2-3x that in Europe).
Music is not super pleasant, but that’s personal. It’s hip-hop + RnB, and they sometimes have diff music playing at the pool vs the beach, which is just pure chaotic. I’d understand House music or lounge beats, but hip-hop isn’t common (just my opinion).
Then, half the menu wasn’t available when I was there. Only 1 out of 4 wines were available; only the basic beers (no desperados, Stella, ..).
On the plus side, there’s a nice pool, which had some ambiance. There’s also directly a beach available. But overall, I really can’t justify the entry price for what...
Read moreYhis private beach is so good! The place is amazing. 90% of the visitors are foreigners. Great music, sandy clean beach (with visible reefs to watch fish swimming right beneath you), nice pool (suitable for all as it's not all the way deep) and very very clean. The place doesn't permit to bring food, beverages or even light snacks ( which will be very pricy if you get hungry since the restaurant isn't cheap or if you're a big family) The pasta was good ( even though I found a strand of hair in it but I asked to change it and they made me a fresh new one instead which was kinda acceptable to me - if you tried restaurants in Hurghada the least of your problems will be a strand of hair lol- but the fresh one was so tasty and well made.) The drinks and greek salad were fresh. However, the fruit platter had some kinda rotten pieces (maybe due to the heat that day) but the rest was OK. They have water sports which was very irritating since they hadn't put any guard line to separate the jets from the swimmers (but they had it put during our next visit.) Plus one of the jets had the exhaust system broken and was surfing really close so all that gas was really really irritating especially for people with lungs issues or even normal people who are trying to breath. Overall experience: It's so clean, so private and well maintained yet a little pricy ( which is totally OK since the other beaches even with a ticket fee of 150EGP are way way over crowded and zero hygiene or cabinet care.) So as for value vs money, I'd say worth it if you're looking for a decent place to relaxe and enjoy the privacy...
Read moreOn arrival, the woman at reception tried to scam us, as she told me it was 400le to enter and that my friend who had already arrived, had said I would pay for her too. That was a complete lie, as we know it's free to enter before 11am for women. So, after a discussion with her about how deceitful and shameful her attempted scam was, especially during Ramadan, I eventually went in.
The pool was dirty and was being cleaned when I arrived, but tye surrounding areas were very clean. The place was completely empty. The pool staff were friendly enough and polite. The service was good. We weren't directly pestered by anyone there, but there were quite a few Egyptian men just walking back and forth around the pool area, staring at us. They weren't there as guests, maybe men from the gym next door wanting to gawp at 2 females sitting next to the pool.
The music was good, very loud, so not a place for relaxing quietly, but it didn't bother us.
The food and drinks are very expensive and tax plus service charge is extra. We paid about 1,300le for an omelette, a couple of coffees, a water and a Fanta.
It's ok, but wouldn't rush back, as although entry is free for women before 11am, they make up for that and more, with the extortionate prices for...
