We visited this restaurant twice, the first time 2 years ago — and both times the same situation happened again. The pricing issue. There is no price list anywhere: neither per 100 grams, nor per kilo, nor for individual items. You have to ask the waiter every time, and the prices seem to be made up "on the spot." I wanted to order Amar, a small one (about the size of a hand). He weighed it and said it costs €67. For a small Amar. I considered this way too expensive and refused. After that, the waiter stopped communicating with us, deliberately turned away, and refused to take an order for shrimp and a seafood mix. Service contrast. Another waiter was polite, explained everything clearly, showed the prices, and served us properly. In the end, dinner cost €49 per person (4 large shrimps, 4 small ones, squid and mussels, soup, and juice). The food. The dishes are delicious, the chefs really do an excellent job. The service. It depends entirely on the waiter: some are attentive and professional, while others openly show disdain for a guest if you dare to ask about prices. Conclusion: The food is good, but the lack of transparent pricing and the selective attitude of some waiters completely kills the desire to come back. It’s a pity, because the kitchen is truly on a high level, but the service ruins the whole impression. We were on 02.10.2025 At about 21.00

While I enjoy exploring the diverse culinary scene, Star Fish Restaurant is the one place I find myself returning to without hesitation every time I visit Hurghada – and that's usually at least twice per trip! For anyone seeking an authentic Egyptian seafood experience, look no further. Star Fish offers an impressive variety of seafood, and what truly noticed is the consistent freshness of their offerings. You can taste the quality in every bite. The portion sizes are also excellent, ensuring you leave feeling truly satisfied. The taste, however, is where Star Fish truly shines. They expertly prepare the local Red Sea fish, and I particularly recommend trying the Nagel and Sheoor – the flavors are simply outstanding. It's clear they understand and appreciate the local catch. Beyond the exceptional food, Star Fish is also a great choice for groups and families. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff are friendly, It's a genuine, unpretentious Egyptian seafood restaurant that focuses on delivering delicious food and a pleasant dining experience. If you're in Hurghada and craving fresh, authentic seafood in a friendly setting, Star Fish Restaurant is a must-visit. It's become my go-to, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and delicious seafood meal. The photos of yesterday visit Today's visit has 2 Dishes of sham El Nesim Renga

Mediocre & a non alcohol restaurant. My wife & I was recommend this restaurant by our hotel reception. Well on first impressions it looked ok. However we didn't read the previous review as wanted wine with our fish but all they have is soft drinks. We ordered star fish soup which was bland & needed a lot of salt and pepper in it. It had crab, prawns & calamri in it. We then had a lobster priced by weight, which was nice. We had a Greek and caviar (tiramasalata) salad which was nice with a bowl of half lemon & limes. We then had a grilled fish, this we didn't like. It was butterflied and covered in curry spices which we didn't expect. We didn't pay for that as we sent it back. We had a basket of bread like Turkish lavash (puffed up pitta style) and 6 jumbo prawns that were nice. The music was very low key and the placed lacked atmosphere. There is a 12% tax added to the bill as well. The staff were nice and paced our meal nicely. We were stuck in a corner under the stairs and felt awkward. Also on the fish display, a lot had grey cloudy eyes, a sing of old fish. We will try fish in another restaurant along the road

Never coming back, the food was average at best but the service was something else. Came here based on the reviews, server recommended fish, also ordered shrimp and calamari, fish came with a bitter taste, calamari was a bit overcooked and lacked flavour. Told waiter about fish, he tried to make excuses that it’s normal… asked to see manager, manager tried to do same thing, but then he took a piece back to kitchen came back a while later confirming fish bad taste.

He apologised profusely so I asked for bill, but then he had the nerve to include the uneaten bad tasting fish in bill, pointed it out he acted confused, then he started wasting time, so I chased home down and I went up to him and asked what’s the delay said he is trying to get me a 10% on a 3500 EGP bill, when the fish was 1400 EGP, I asked him if he was indeed the manager cuz if he isn’t I can talk to the manager and save him the onus of proof if he isn’t capable of dealing. So he asked the manager to come down, by this point we had been waiting 45 mins since we ordered the check, we were a party of 5 plus infant, whom was getting impatient as it was now bed time upon sunset. I asked the head server to tell his manager the situation as I my patience was drawing thin, he proceeded to lie flat out, I was in disbelief as he himself had come earlier and apologised and admitted bad taste in fish and now was lying. I lost my patience and proceeded to give them a taste of my mind as bitter as their fish, as I had been polite and courteous to this point but since he was lying so I tore him a new one figuratively and made his manager an example of bad service as well in front of the entire rest, finally they did what they should have done from the beginning, they took the fish off the bill, I paid 2K+ and we still feel cheated.

Never coming back, the food was average at best but the service was...

I went for the first time it was very good but for 2 we got some for 56 euros we didn't understand why so expensive. We decide to go back a week later but saying that this time if we will pay attention to the price he puts (because no price display if you choose your fish at the stand). So we take 3 shrimps of 3 varieties, some molds and 2 small salmon cobblestones. He weighs but without telling us the prices he puts himself on a machine where the price is not even displayed per kg but on the other hand in the Egyptian he put their fish themselves and on the right scale. So from there we ask for the 3 shrimps of a single variety that we took c how much per kilo he tells us 2,500 Egyptian pounds for 3 shrimps it makes me (200 g)almost 9th. What seemed expensive to me. So I tell him and I see that he is trying to be evasive so I insist and there I see him bar the ticket with the sums and goes to see one of these colleagues he comes back and tells me I was wrong c 1300 Egyptian pound, I understood that it was thieves who gave the prices to the head I took my things and I left I will not stay in a restaurant that steals from me. And on my 4 varieties I asked the price on one I can't even imagine the rest, so French English don't make you fly there are other fish restaurants including AL Halaka Fish. Or else be careful and ask well but even by asking it sinks you because no...
