I stopped in this cafe for a freshly pressed orange and a latte having been enticed by an utterly lovely window display full of cakes to die for.Inside equally welcoming, patrons feasting, plates being left completely clean, the best sign ever the food is good. And by golly the juice was sweet and the coffee one of the best lattes I have ever had,my charming and smiling waitress made it herself - I asked for strong and it was strong. The wi-fi quick and powerful. When I left almost an hour later I said I will be back for lunch. And I was.Spicy sprats on home-made bread, perfection itself, and tomato soup. The soup was the best, absolutely the best tomato soup I have ever had in my life.Ever.The next time I come to Tallinn I will have two bowlfuls of this red elixir fit for the Gods. The delicious lunch washed down with Pilsner. But I just could not leave. Ordered a cup of latter, again the delightful waitress made it herself.Rukis is a part of a Vana Wiru hotel, the location is the best, right in the middle of this enchanting town in which I spent a day only[was on a cruise on the Queen Victoria],the most wonderful, unforgettable day.Thank you, Rukis, thank...
Read moreI was excited to bring my in-laws to the cafe after seeing how great everything looks! 🤩 See, they are from Australia and are used to a magnificent service. However we didn’t get it. From the first conversation with the server Polina to the last, she wasn’t welcoming nor friendly, rather rude. No hello, no nothing. Didn’t know if there’s a table service or not So took the menus ourselves and then ordered at the counter. Approaching the server Polina she just stood there looking at us saying “yes!?” But not in a nice way.. more like “ what do you guys want from here 🫠 Before leaving grabbed a takeaway pastry and then she didn’t even say a word at all. You would think working in such a beautiful place one would appreciate it but no, dream on. That was the first cafe we visited in Estonia and I would not recommend visiting if you’re looking for a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, you won’t get it! The food looked and tasted great tho, pity the service could do with some...
Read moreWhat an amazing find. I was roaming around z desperately trying to find local cuisine. Stumbled on to this cafe. Looked good. Seating on pedestrian street were nice but there was a man hole nearby which which smelled..soon started raining so i went inside. They had umbrella cover ln seats by the way but rain was way to strong. I asked the nice lady in there to help me try a local dish. She was very nice and recommended raw fish with local bread. I was very scared to try raw fish for first time but then took the leap. It cam with egg and butter. It was very tasty, fish was very salty but combination with own made little sweet rye bread balanced it out. Butter was also own made and was amazing. All in all great experience. The decor od cafe is excellent. Theme is like steam punk kind of retro (don't know how to describe, sorry). After that had coffee and it tasted awesome. Really energised me from my tiredness from walking in the city. Highly...
