Goodwin — Restaurant in Tallinn

This was the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in my two years of living in Estonia. My partner and I arrived at the restaurant and were repeatedly overlooked by the servers even though we politely indicated we wanted to ordered. We had to sit there and watch how they attended other tables, welcomed new customers, took later orders and ours was still left pending. It honestly felt like discriminatory treatment, and it was heartbreaking. After waiting for way too long my partner and I felt obligated to leave as it felt like no one was going to come and serve our table. Both waiters were chatting very nearby our table as we left and didn’t seem to mind we were leaving, my partner who’s the most polite man I know said “thank you, we will go somewhere else” - both waiters simply said “OK 🤷🏻‍♀️”- (mind you both of them were standing and literally chatting even though we were waiting to be served, at some point one even stood at the door and was people watching for a while even though he had just walked past us and said he’d come to pick our order). I left feeling disheartened and offended. It is really sad there is no customer service culture and basic human decency in some places. We will not be returning. I recognize the quality of the restaurant by tasting of the basic course in the menu. It should be a flag dish. If you serve it on an exceptional level do not be shy of the bravo from the audience. Sorry to say, but you do require max 3/5. Starter - carpaccio - nice sliced meat, but unfortunately dimmed by some kind of cheese "parmesan-like" + vegetable oil make a whole dish on a very below average level. For this price&quality you should be ashamed!!! Julienne - very nice. Basic salad – lovely, never-met dressing, but kitchen should look on the leaves - some of them were out of date (polite meaning of rotten); Main course - NY steak. I ordered medium rare. For my surprise I received it medium rare one site and the other was almost raw. Quality of the meat - well - just ordinary. No surprise in the taste. Only author’s sauce was delicious. No desert this time. If you are looking for a perfect waiter service - I highly advice. The men which I was served is awarding 10 out of 5 stars.

The waiter was unprofessional. When taking our order he kept talking to other staff. He didn't come ask how we liked the food when we were eating. After taking the payment he just walked away, without saying thanks or goodbye. He also brought the bill and then left to take other orders without charging us first. There was a lot of waiters on shift, but only a few of them seemed to work while the others stood together talking.

For a steakhouse, you would expect them to know how to cook meat. I asked for my steak to be medium, but it was medium plus, nearly well done. The meat was chewy and the quality wasn't what we expected. Additionally, my friend is a vegetarian and the only vegetarian portion was unavailable. One of us had the salmon, which was good and the best part of our dinner. However, when she asked for fries on the side with it, the waiter told her the portion already comes with sweet potato fries, so no extra fries would be needed.
