Saw lovely photos of this restaurant, so we booked a table for our anniversary. Unfortunately the preordered and prepaid surprise glasses of prosecco were forgotten, waited for a while then decided to order from table. For startes we decided to share a 8piece sushi set, waited 40minutes. There were other people waiting as well.. meanwhile the Bolt couriers were going in and out the door, which made the room so cold that we had to put our coats on. Our table wasn't even close to the door.

Sushi was ok when we got it.

Our mains had already been ordered when we arrived, and we were really starving at this point so decided to wait. Also asked how long it would be, "not too long" was the answer. So we got the two curries in 1h 40mins:)

Honestly, If I had ordered with Bolt i probably would have gotten the food faster to my table. Also, just one guy for service on a FRIDAY evening. Not a big place so I understand the idea, but at least a host or a runner to make the workload a bit more manageable.

Im a spicy food lover, but first time in my life i couldn't eat my red curry. I tried because I really couldn't wait for another shrimp catching session. There was so much chilly oil, so I just ordered some plain rice. It was very good. I would recommend this place if you want to enjoy rice!

As we were leaving I asked the waiter if it was always like this, he said no.. we just have a 20people birthday party in the back room. Very disappointed, as to say the least. PLEASE SAY that kind of things when people arrive so its possible to consider on arriving, if they even want to stay or that the waiting times are longer.

PS! Decide whether you would like to be Bolt pickup place or a restaurant. As right now the owners/managers job was poorly done if at all. Workloads going...

Very strange experience today at Sakura. Before we had even arrived to the restaurant, I received a call saying that some of the items are unavailable tonight, but since we had a language barrier, I did not understand what that meant.

We had booked a special "Christmas menu" with a special price, and when we got there it was apparent that their special Christmas menu was simply a choice of two regular starters, two regular main courses and two regular desserts - like on any regular night. Only many of the items were not available (like tuna, salmon), since they had already ran out of ingredients. Additionally a bottle of wine was included, but the choice was between a Prosecco or a Riesling.

We calculated that the special Christmas menu cost more, than just ordering from the menu, so we felt a bit cheated for that. And they were unable to explain what the purpose of the special Christmas menu is, when the menu card itself turned out cheaper.

While the food was delicious, the service was strange at best, so keep that in mind if it's...

I had the pleasure of dining at "Sakura Resto" on October 30, 2024, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The restaurant exudes a warm, inviting atmosphere that balances sophistication with comfort—perfect for a relaxed meal.

Service: The service was impeccable—attentive without being overbearing, and every staff member we interacted with was friendly and eager to make our experience memorable. Their dedication truly elevated the entire dining experience.

Food: Now, onto the star of the evening—the food! I highly recommend trying their marinated pork ribs. These ribs were tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection with a marinade that was both rich and aromatic, offering a unique twist that I won’t forget soon. The rest of the menu was equally impressive, with fresh ingredients and attention to detail in every dish.

In summary, if you’re in Tallinn, "Sakura Resto" is a must-visit. Their inviting atmosphere, exceptional service, and mouthwatering food (especially the pork ribs!) make it a place worth...

Very strange dining experience. The order of the foods brought to the table was very odd. Nothing for 30minutes and then appetizers and the main course were served at the same time. Only after we had almost finished eating did they bring out the edamame beans? Probably forgot them in the steamer judging how soft they were. And the courses themselves: Where is the teriyaki in the teriyaki burger? Mayonnaise with no teriyaki, served with bland fries. 9€ Mohito, but no mint? So sugar, rum and lime. The rice used for the main courses was the same rice they used for the sushi so the rice was cold. No soy sauce or any sauce with the sashimi? Where is the kimchi in the kim-chicken bao? Service was not particularly friendly or good, server made a mistake in the order, would recommend repeating the order back to the customer to prevent it from happening. Also what is these music tracks playing they do not match the vibe. Weird remixes of pop songs?

UPDATE: We went another time to celebrate our anniversary, and ordered salmon sashimi this time, along with different sushi rolls. The staff were super attentive and really made sure we enjoyed it! I highly recommend the Akira sushi! Best sushi roll ! My husband and I had a great time in Sakura. We wanted to find a nice restaurant to celebrate his birthday and our friend recommended Sakura for sushi. As someone who dislikes cream cheese and had some bad sushi experiences before in Estonia, I was hesitant but we decided to go anyways. We ordered the Omakase set which includes some sashimi, nigiris, makis, miso soup and dessert. I think the price was really worth it for what you are getting and I ended up packing my makis and dessert as takeaway because it was too much for me. Still, I think everything was really fresh, and the sashimi was really delicious. Overall, we would definitely come back here again next time!
