I recently dined at the only Vietnamese restaurant in Tallinn with my twin sister, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a serene and welcoming atmosphere that truly set the tone for the meal. The service was impeccable - so demure, so mindful. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, and the entire dining experience felt like a perfectly curated moment of calm.
For starters, we shared the "nem" spring rolls, which were crispy, golden, and filled with a delicious mixture of minced pork, vegetables, and glass noodles. The rolls were served with a tangy dipping sauce that added the perfect contrast of sweetness and acidity to the crunchy exterior.
The main course, "pho bo," was a heartwarming bowl of goodness. The broth was rich and savory, pairing beautifully with the tender slices of beef. Garnished with fresh cilantro and green onions, each bite felt like a true taste of Vietnam. Comforting, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, the pho was a light yet complex dish, ideal for Tallinn’s chilly weather.
To accompany our meal, we each enjoyed a glass of "ca phe sua da" - the traditional Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk. The rich, bold coffee combined with the sweetness of the milk was the perfect pick-me-up.
Every element of our experience was thoughtfully crafted, from the presentation of the dishes to the attentiveness of the staff.
If you’re in Tallinn and looking for an authentic taste of Vietnam, this spot is a must-visit. Just be warned, the food smells so good, you might forget to take photos...
Read moreMy main issue with the place is that the food would be decent if it were street food (and priced accordingly), but it currently feels overpriced for what it offers. I'll rate everything i've tried from this restaurant:
Che pho bar (the only dessert they have on the menu): [4.5/5]. I liked this a lot and loved the different jellies and toasted almonds.
Pho with stewed beef: [3/5]. Unfortunately it didn't really hit the spot for me. It mostly just tasted like coriander and the broth didn't have much depth to it. The beef and noodles were alright.
Bun thit nuong (+2 spring rolls) [4/5]. The sauce here was the star, the grilled pork i enjoyed a lot as well and the noodles were alright. The spring rolls were fried fantastically but didnt taste like much unfortunately. [3.5/5]
Coconut milk tea [3/5]. Nothing really special about it, wish it had more tapioca pearls and a stronger coconut flavour. The pearls were a bit too mushy.
The service gets a [3/5]. I could barely hear what the first waitress was saying and the second waitress sneezed in her hand before handing us the receipt with that same hand. I ordered a vietnamese coffee and unfortunately it was never put on the order. There were a few other minor things but altogether it just felt bizarre.
I really loved the parasols with fairy lights on the ceiling and real candles...
Read moreNo doubt , the food is good and tasty. Big portion and the pho soup totally can taste the care & love from chef.
Free water and coffee absolutely surprise me because there is no way you can get such a great quality coffee for free in ESTONIA!
The environment is clean and cosy. Especially the window seat!
A big smile and warm welcome from both staff members totally make this place different from other restaurants nearby. ❤️
Ps: I was reading the comment review before I visited. I can feel the owner/chef really care to diner words and make good changes/adjust. 👍🏻
But, unfortunately, this adjustment also has made the pho no longer authentic as it is supposed to be. (I believe at the beginning of business, the chef must be cooking super authentic Vietnamese food, but due to local people taste buds are different as Asia, you change your recipe)
Overall, I really love your food whether it is authentic or not. They are really awesome! Thanks, Chef!
Wondering, is it possible to have grill lemongrass chicken with pho? I will definitely come back if this is...
