The quality of the food has been consistent not matter which day I have been there. You must try the lunch meals during the week days. They never fail to give you a smile with its freshness of ingredients and taste. Kudos to the chef. The Greek-style meatballs (soutzoukakia) are delicious. It is a must if you eat meat (I am really sorry if you don't).
The lunch also comes with a mini Greek salad on the side. For the price you pay (which was last time around 11,30 EUR), you get exceptionally good food.
If you really want a taste of Greece, you should order (after your lunch) either a Greek coffee or Fredo Espresso. I highly recommend the latter for a nice jolt of energy.
In the weekends, I usually order No.30 panini which is super delicious and filling. I am getting hungry just thinking about it to be honest!
The coffee shop is spacious and bright. This is especially important during a dark day in Helsinki in the winter.
Don't lose the opportunity to chat with the owner if he is around. He has a unique sense of humor and he is super friendly. A couple of times, he has even offered me home-made honey from Greece....
Read moreI have a confession to make: Gran Delicato is the only reason I havenât deleted my Facebook account. Every day, I dutifully open that cursed appânot to spy on my exes or see which of my high school classmates has joined a pyramid schemeâbut to check what delicious miracles the gods of Greek cuisine have bestowed upon us mortals. See, they only post their menu on Facebook, and somehow, thatâs enough to keep me tethered to Zuckerberg's dystopian circus.
Their Gigantes beans.... These beans are so good, Iâve started evangelizing about them at work. My coworkers are convinced Iâm getting some kind of under-the-table kickback from Gran Delicato. They think my salary isnât in euros anymore; itâs in jars of those damn beans. And you know what? Iâm not denying it. If they offered me a lifetime supply in exchange for my dignity, Iâd take it. Who needs pride when youâve got perfectly stewed beans?
Why save for retirement when I could eat their moussaka* every week?
If youâre in Helsinki and havenât been, what are you even doing with your life? Go. Now.
And donât forget to like their Facebook page. You know,...
Read moreThis was a really pleasant find. It's a greek cafeteria and restaurant which doesn't have too expensive lunch menu and coffee were great. Service was golden and atmosphere superb.
So what else would you need? Just visit here you're looking for a romantic place to have a lunch with you beloved one or visit a friend. This place has amazing decoration and atmosphere. Lunch cost 9,80 Euros with a decent sized portions. I consider this really great price for a quality of the food. Just place your order at the counter and take your number and go sit down whereever you please. You pay your orders at the counter when you're leaving. I thought this was really clever way to speed service quite remarkably.
This place is great working with laptops too since they seem to have a lot of electronical outlets. This establishment is remarkably big too with lots of places to sit down.
I truly enjoyed this establishment and I recommend it for anyone looking for a tad better atmosphere to spend time with friends or...
