Narinkka market square is well known place to arrange all sort of outdoor activities from snowboard jumping competitions to football matches and Eurovision contest. This versatile use of this square makes it one of the most popular places to be when something special needs to be arranged. I can't complain its location. It's really easy to get here from all over capital area.

People tend to misleadingly call this place narikka (cloakroom) market square but it's really Narinkka market square. It got its name from Russian word that mean market place. This market was in this spot in the beginning of 20th century when Finland still was a part of Russia hence name that has a foreign meaning. Funny though that there isn't really market activities related to this location anymore. Reason to this should be obvious - it's really expensive to arrange anything to this spot because of the rent.
