I had stayed previously at this Hotel and had no issues. However, on this occasion there were a few problems that left me frustrated. Upon arriving at the Hotel I was unable to access my Room using the Door Code that was provided to me the day earlier via Email. After MULTIPLE attempts to use the code I had to return to the Lobby to use the "Free Phone" to contact Customer Care that was located there. To my surprise the Phone in the Lobby DID NOT WORK!! Thankfully I had my own Phone with a European Sim Card to call the number provided. After speaking to Customer Care (who had to ring me back 4 TIMES to try and resolve the issue I was allocated another Room. To my confusion I was not aware at this Hotel there is a "Building A" and a "Building B". My first code was for Building A (Floor 5) then I was given a new Code for Building B (Floor 4). I was then given verbal directions on how to locate Building B. Eventually after 1.5hrs (after the 4.00pm Check In Time I was able to access my Room at 5.20pm)
My main gripes are;
1./ The wrong Door Code was provided in the 1st Instance and the Room was not accessible (or available to use I was told).
2./ The "Free" Customer Care Phone in the Entrance Lobby is FAULTY and Unusable. This needs to be rectified by Omena as it's a MUST for Guests that have issues that require help should assistance be needed as its a "Staff Free" Hotel. Also, I have read other guests have raised this issue in other reviews however the Phone remains unfixed.
3./ Not a huge issue but the Bed Light in my Room was not working and should be something that is checked by the Room Service Staff.
On a Positive Note. The Customer Care lady that assisted me was very patient and did her best to resolve the issue and I also stayed at the Omena Hotel in Turku on this trip and it all...
Read moreThis place is terrible. Yes, it's cheap, but, in this case, you really do get what you pay for. I will start with something positive: the location is good. To be extra nice, the bed was pretty comfortable. The less good parts: customer service is so bad that I don't even know where to begin. The short version - if something goes wrong, there is a huge chance that you will be on your own and perhaps even have to pay - yes, pay - to get help. They have a customer service phone in the lobby which is free to use, but what good is that if it doesn't work (which was the case when I was there)? If you use your own phone, which I had to do three times because of different issues for a total of nearly half an hour, much of which was spent waiting and waiting, you have to pay nearly one euro per minute. When I tried to address this afterwards with their customer service people via email, the response I got was cold and unhelpful, and it seemed like the person who replied hadn't even read my mail. Folks - save yourself the hassle. There are far better, cleaner and safer (I might add - unless you enjoy competing for an elevator with a bunch of rowdy drunks) places to stay that would probably not cost that much more. Helsinki is full of hotels, even some cheap ones. This place does not deserve your business; once they have your money, the extent to which they care about you...
Read moreAmazing hotel for this value of money and as star range. Felt risky and scared after reading the feedback here that it’s dirty and there are issues with entering the hotel and the codes… I had some issues with payment through booking and my bank then sent me a detailed response that the Omena Hotels had issues with accepting Visa card payments at that time - felt a bit upset, but used another type of card. Hope they’ve fixed it already. Once I’ve paid, I received a message with the code for entry. The negative thing is that the check in is at 16:00 and if you wanna earlier, you need to pay extra money (I haven’t only as a principle as two extra hours don’t worth it and believe it’s not nice towards guests). I was able to move in at 16:00
The hotel is located in a good place in central area, the entrance has a disabled lift and other facilities to access the building if you have a wheelchair or a heavy suitcase. It was good and quick, code worked from the first attempt and I didn’t have to communicate with anyone in the pandemic.
The hotel itself and the room were recently refurbished, very clean with a small kitchenette, a fridge, microwave and even a tv. Very clean!!! Toilet had a soap, towels and a sensor light.
I had to stay there less than 24hours and find this hotel very good option for a short stay. As I believe very affordable price...
