Thai Orchid Villa Kamppi — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

Fancy looking Thai-Vietnamese restaurant that seems to be quite popular among foreign people too. This place is a bit small compared to the flow of customers which is caused by the location at the food furnace of Kamppi shopping center.

I can totally see why there's a steady flow of customers. Their food was really well spiced and I must admit that it's one of the best I've had in a restaurant at the center of Helsinki that still doesn't totally kill my budget. Their average À la carte menu price is around 18 Euros which is a tad too much for me. Lunch price here is somewhere around 10 Euros which is alright compared to the quality of the food. After finishing the meal, we asked the lady taking our orders to pack the balance food which we couldn't eat. Basically take away the food home. We also told that thai lady to pack some chilly sauce alongwith the food.

To our surprise and shock she reacted " I have only 2 hands and i can't do everything together" this was humiliating and we were shocked with her rude n absurd behaviour to such a simple request... completely unacceptable behaviour which has no place in the service/hospitality industry...

We found her totally rude and irresponsible.

Food was good. Nothing to say about it. But the service was unfortunately terrible. The waitress (the one who seemed in charge of the service staff) asked us to move from our table to another table because she wanted to put the table next to us (which was free) together with our table for a large group who just arrived. It’s like she wasn’t really asking our opinion but like was inviting us to move to another table. Disgraceful ! We refused and then, during the rest of dinner, she served us with a very cold and ignoring attitude. We were really surprised to be treated as such.
