Some of the best Mexican we've found in Europe. No reservations are needed, but the place is small, so be prepared to wait. It attaches to Cafe 21.
Atmosphere: less than a dozen tables, so very cozy. The entrance has double doors, so there is very little concern for a draft. The art and decor are warm, eclectic, and bright. There are regular tables and a small bar area by the window.
Service: Our waitress was phenomenal! She was the only one serving and making drinks but still made sure we felt taken care of.
Food: ordered a round of margaritas. We watched the lime juice used to make them squeezed right in front of us. Super fresh and tasty.
Started with the chips (extra thick and crunchy) and guacamole. So good. It's a smooth style, not chunky. Ther3 was also a fresh salsa. It was very chunky but i found the flavor lacking a bit. Also, had the elote soup starter. I was hesitant because i thought it was the actual corn cob, but it worked out. Smooth, rich, and hearty.
Mains. Pork tacos and a burrito. Burrito was sizeable and filling. The tacos are 2/order; that was my only negative. Even being street style, I personally would have wanted just one more. They're very literally 2 bites a piece.
Do not miss this place! They also do takeaway if you're in a rush or don't want to wait...
Read moreWow, I wasn't expecting this! The food quality at Taqueria Yuca is incredible. We were in the area for over a week and ended up diving in to Yuca three times. The Yuca Margaritas were excellent, the Nachos (we added pork) also amazing and consistently great with each visit. We tried various tacos and our favs were beef, pork, and prawn.
The atmosphere is excellent and the staff quite helpful and kind. It was a great place to get cozy, warm up with great food, and relax for a bit with a few rounds of margaritas. While I didn't anticipate amazing Mexican vibes north of the Arctic Circle, we couldn't be happier to visit! Excellent!
Our tip: we visited MULTIPLE restaurants that offered the same old arctic char and reindeer dishes. It was shocking to see how many places do the same thing without variation. They charge too much as well. Those are good for a meal or two, but you HAVE to include options like Yuca in your visit. Better pricing and honestly better value, serving size,...
Read moreOk, so this was something I did not plan or anticipate. We are 1/2 Mexican family with lots of expectation when we go to eat in a Mexican restaurant. We usually avoid these places in Europe because they just cant measure up to a good Mexican food. We only visited this restaurant because other two were closed on Mondays. And what a great luck it was for us because the food was really out of this world!!! I had ceviche, excellent. Totopos, yummy - and the lime/ cream salsa? Divine! Then came the tacos, more tacos and churros at the end. All just excellent. We would come again with no hesitation. Kudos to the chef (who isnt Mexican btw but should get the...
