Firstly it is definitely not Vietnamese except for the people serving there (not sure though). Meykong noodles were flat noodles with raw vegetables served with hoisin sauce (straight from a store) and the Pho dry was boiled rice noodles with raw vegetables (pho dry) served with soy sauce. (Check the pics of the two dishes - both look exactly the same and there was no vegan meat) The menu says served with vegan chicken and vegan pork which is definitely misleading customers as both dishes were served with only tofu and no vegan meat. Spring rolls are rice rolls wrapped with mostly lettuce and not served with peanut sauce as Vietnamese rolls should be served. I asked for my dish to be spicy. It was far from spicy. I asked for some chillies and they first refused. Later they gave me three super tiny pieces. I have been to many Vietnamese restaurants around Europe and this was by far the most disappointing. I give it one star for the fresh vegetables and boiled noodles but honestly why would I come to a restaurant for this not just eat this at home. Unwelcoming reception from the owner who is quiet unpleasant to say the least. Lastly just 5 dishes on the menu and nothing much to choose from. I would have not visited this restaurant if it wasn't for the high rating on google maps. If you are really looking for a great Asian restaurant in Rovaniemi, go to Hanki (Korean Restaurant) that is a 7 min walk from the centre. Hanki mostly serves meat but they do a few awesome vegan options with great flavour and style. *Maybe the highly rating is for the pho soup and bubble tea that...
Read moreThe staff was very proffesional, offered help with our order and made suggestions.
The space was not large, nicely decorated. Toilettes were further from the main part however very good description I have to say, not many restaurants have it this way even though it should be standard.
I had traditional bubble tea, it was not the sweet thing and I loved that! It had taste and I like the bubbles (I think it was tapioka, not sure now, the point is that it was good :)) We ordered two types of noodles, I loved both, each of them had unique structure and taste, I very much liked both, but as it’s different culture the taste might not fit everyone. Meat was full of taste.
We tried also raindeer ham rolls, however the ham was not really distinct so regular rolls would be probably better.
The last thing is I liked the thin chop sticks! Also water is free if you have a drink and only 0,5€ if you...
Read moreSaigon Noodle Bar is a simple yet convenient Vietnamese restaurant located in the town of Rovaniemi. The interior is basic but comfortable, offering a casual dining experience. One of the highlights is their lunchtime set meal, which includes a main dish, a simple salad bar with Vietnamese-style dressing, coffee or tea, and a small selection of cookies—a nice sweet touch from the restaurant.
We ordered the dry pho with stir-fried chicken and pork. The flavors were really nice, and the portion size was just right. It’s a great spot to satisfy Asian food cravings while traveling.
While it may not be as authentic as what you’d find in Vietnam or other Asian countries, the food is still enjoyable and well-prepared. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area and looking for a comforting,...
