Rosso, Rovaniemi — Restaurant in Rovaniemi sub-region

For all gluten intolerant people who would plan a trip to Lapland (Rovaniemi) in Finland... Almost everything on the here in Rosso is gluten-free or gluten-free alternative (for pasta and pizza for example) available.

I called in advance with questions about gluten-free options (my girlfriend has celiac disease), so I also explained that she is very sensitive about cross-contamination, which was no problem. Gluten-free pizzas are baked in a different oven (unlike many other pizzerias where they simply change the baking paper), and if you indicate that you want to eat gluten-free, they inform the kitchen so that they put on new gloves, etc.

Firstly.... Restaurant was less than half full. So service should have been better. We waited approximately 10 minutes to be served, when I decided to call for service, I made eye contact with a girl and said hello, to which she snapped One Minute. The soup was delicious, now sure how the pizza is.... As we are still waiting for one pizza after 50minutes. We asked about the hold up and apparently there is a delay in the one dish they make. Even though the family of four that sat down 30 minutes after us are currently eating pizza. Also the girl who served us spilt the wine all over us as she placed it down, we didn't mind mistakes happen. Our visit to Rosso Restaurant in Rovaniemi was nothing short of delightful. We tried a variety of dishes including pizza, and pasta; each dish was perfect in flavor and presentation.

Despite a one-hour wait due to rush hour, the open salad counter offering unlimited salad was a great way to start our meal. It was refreshing and kept us satisfied while waiting.

The service was exceptional even during the busy period. The staff kept us informed about the delay, apologized sincerely, and ensured that our food was served as promised.
