Food Garden at Sogo KL is a fantastic spot for anyone looking for a variety of delicious and affordable food options in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Located on an upper floor of the popular Sogo shopping mall, it provides a clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned environment, making it an ideal place to enjoy a meal or take a break from shopping. The selection of food is impressive, featuring both local Malaysian favorites like nasi lemak, chicken rice, and char kuey teow, as well as international options such as Japanese, Korean, and Western dishes. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the central location, and the quality of the food is consistently good. Many of the dishes are freshly prepared, and the local flavors are authentic and satisfying. The seating area is spacious and well-maintained, with staff ensuring tables are cleaned promptly, contributing to the overall pleasant dining experience. Its location within Sogo makes it convenient for shoppers, and the nearby Bandaraya LRT station adds to its accessibility. However, it can get quite crowded during lunch hours and weekends, which might make finding a seat challenging. While most stalls serve halal food, clearer signage or certifications would be helpful for added reassurance. For the best experience, it’s worth visiting during off-peak hours to enjoy the space and sample the wide variety of offerings. Whether you’re a local, a tourist, or just someone looking for a good meal in a convenient location, Food Garden at Sogo KL is an excellent choice.

It had been a long while since we last visited this foodcourt, yet we were still quite impressed with the variety of foods being offered here. The foodcourt covers the entire floor space, and that reflected its enormous size. The choices of food range from local asian delicacies, western foods, and even middle eastern favorites. Enough said, we were spoilt for choice. Hence, my wife and I ended up ordering the same dish, the Special Penang Char Koey Teow. Special because they were served with prawns and cockles, which came in abundance! On hindsight, that was a huge mistake, as it tasted far inferior from the ones we normally eat in Penang or Ipoh. And the serving was quite generous, so both of us ended up not finishing our plates... Since we were quite early for lunch, we could pick and chose our seats, and obviously we selected the ones next to the mesmerizing waterfall..That was probably the key highlight of our visit there...

I don't recommend ordering drinks at the beverage department in the food court named "Drinks and Desserts." As an American on a business trip in Malaysia, I experienced a frustrating incident at the food court. Despite ordering first, a dark-skinned, short gentleman with a hat mistakenly handed my drinks to another Malaysian. When I informed him of the mistake, he became agitated and began speaking rapidly in a language I couldn't understand, possibly Malay or Indian. Despite my attempts to remain calm, he continued to raise his voice, prompting me to ask him to calm down. To my surprise, he then instructed me to calm down. Considering I'm in my mid-40s and the staff member was likely younger, I found his disrespectful behavior in front of other customers unacceptable. Despite not raising my voice, his poor attitude and lack of customer service skills were evident.
