La Face Ouest - Restaurant Val Thorens — Restaurant in Albertville

Love this restaurant in central Val Tho. Been coming here on and off for over a decade and though the menu changes somewhat over time the quality remains high. Stopped there for lunch last week and had Lasagne which rather than minced beef in it, had pulled beef. A nice touch. Had a bottle of mineral water and a small coke and a side of frites. Then a white choc cheesecake for afters and a pint (0,5L) of St Stefanus Blonde to finish. Total cost 85 euros including 10% tip. The temp outside that day must've been about -4 or -5 degrees C as the pow was holding up perfectly all round the 3V when i stopped at 1400 for fuel, yet sitting on their terrace outside in the sun there was no need for a jacket while sitting eating for an hour or so. If the sun goes behind cloud, it would be best to be inside :-) Obviously it is a bit expensive, but well worth a visit as the food is great and the terrace is IMO one of the best...

To be fair I will first mention that I only went there for breakfast.

If you also feel like having breakfast there, don't do it. Like in most other place of this kind direct service at the bar is not allowed. Service at the table is extremely slow, we only took 4 beers, coffee and 5 croissants, and waited for good 15' until they arrived, wasting perfect sunny weather. Not only it was long, we didn't even get everything we asked for (2 missing croissants, supposedly "still being cooked"), but after finishing the drinks our patience run out and we went to continue the breakfast in Carrefour. On top of that it's overpriced, even for VT, but this is already obvious from other reviews. So, forget this place, and better go for something in the commercial center, or Chalet Caron, Chalet Thorens, La...

Our first time in VT and only here for 4 days, so choosing the right restaurant is important , so I’m writing this review having been there twice already. Last night and tonight have been exceptional, the food was fantastic no question, pizza last night and more special menu tonight, both have been delicious, but what makes this exceptional restaurant stand out is the level of service and quality throughout everything they do. From fab linen, table wear, incredible staff, fab loo’s etc etc the standard is awesome I totally love it here and wish La Face was around the corner from us in the UK.
