My review of the NYE we paid for a magnum bottle service table for €750 and waited over an hour to get in, didn’t get a bottle, got no drink tokens, and spent two hours+ arguing with staff who had no desire to be there let alone resolve the issues they created. New Year’s Eve is always overpriced and overhyped, but this was a straight up SCAM.
It seemed like all the staff were surprised to be hosting a new year’s eve event. We waited in line for over an hour before someone in our group finally encouraged the organizers to let those with bottle service in, it easily would have been a TWO HOUR LINE otherwise. Thank goodness we had a true Parisian with us who (respectfully) argued for us, but the fact that it was required is wild. At least it was covered from the rain, but it was a breezeway so the wind was brutal.
I am usually really sympathetic to those working new year’s events, but everyone working lacked basic critical thinking or problem solving skills and at times even instigated situations instead of deescalating them.
When scanning the tickets for our group of six, counting to six seemed to be a challenge for event staff. They created their own traffic jam at the entrance for no reason (inside it was not crowded at all). I’m honestly not even mad we were still in line getting pushed around by other upset patrons at midnight because everything else was so much worse that it ended up being my smallest gripe.
When booking the ticket they said we could exchange the bottle of liquor for another type of the same size, when we got there it’s like we asked them to complete scientific equations. Then we had to go back to the entrance to get a different bottle service card, then go back to the bottle service area and they still didn’t understand. Okay, whatever, we asked how to buy an additional bottle instead and were met with confusion.
They originally sat us at a table for four because they didn’t want to kick the random people out of the six person table (people who had regular admission tickets who chose to sit at the table and were never asked to move). There was only one nice employee who was able to find us additional chairs and I think she was the only competent person working that night. They OVERSOLD TABLES and didn’t have enough so they were banking on people leaving early or never getting in, so honestly it was all a scam anyway.
Then they told us to exchange for regular admission tickets, but when we tried they told us to “try to request a refund at a later date.” So we ended up with no bottle(s) and no drink tokens two hours after arrival. So we paid for drinks which were €10 regardless of whether it was alcohol, juice or water. Great deal for drinkers, not so great for non-drinkers, terrible for drunk people who needed water.
Not enough bartenders. It was so difficult to get water and they charged €10 for small water bottles so I am not surprised people were throwing up all over the venue- in bottle service buckets, in bathroom sinks, in the planter boxes outside. By 1am when we finally got situated I looked around and at every turn someone was BARFING.
The FIREWORKS were PARTIALLY OBSTRUCTED by buildings and far away, not to mention the venue obstructed the view with the igloos anyway. Plus they didn’t want people blocking the pathways so people were standing in the planter boxes to watch the fireworks, which we could barely see. There was a better view for free under the event space because there were no igloos to block it and benches to stand on.
Transportation was difficult because the metro stop was closed and Ubers couldn't get close to the building.
As far as expectations go, the bar could have been in hell and this event still would not have met them. Do not waste your time, energy or...
Read moreCan I give NEGATIVE STARS?? Stay away from their new years eve party. We bought a “VIP” table for €600 that we never even received once we got inside after an hour of waiting in the general queue with general ticket holders. We got there at 11pm and did not get inside until 12:40am. Rude security guards that weren’t trying to be helpful. Once we got inside we were told that there were no tables available for 6 and sat us in a table that only had 3 chairs (mind we are a group of 6) and told us all chairs and tables were now taken even though we had PRE BOUGHT! So very much similar experience to what other reviewers here have reported. Line for the toilet was 45min+ waiting. Overall awful coordination from the event team with zero communication or knowledge about anything by the actual employees.
Only 1-2 staff were actually helpful and felt bad, and appreciation...
Read moreQue dire...
