Le Bistrot Des Sales Gosses — Restaurant in Avignon

I recently dined at Le Bistrot Des Sales Gosses, drawn in by its beautiful and inviting ambiance. The decor and setting are truly delightful, creating a perfect atmosphere for a pleasant evening out. Unfortunately, the experience quickly went downhill from there.

Despite the restaurant being only moderately busy, the service was incredibly slow and inattentive. We waited an excessive amount of time just to place our orders, and it took even longer for the food to arrive. When it finally did, the dishes were disappointing, to say the least.

They messed up the order, the steak was not edible, one steak was sent back twice,the flavors were bland and the food was lukewarm at best.

It’s a shame that such a charming place is let down by poor service and subpar food. With some serious improvements in these areas, it could be a fantastic spot. Until then, I can’t recommend...

We went there for dinner. We were a group of 7 people and we were immediately seated as there was a lot of tables to choose from. The food is quite tasty, even though it was on the pricey side (but then again all the places in Avignon were the same $ wise). We ordered entrees (snails, bone marrow, foie gras and beef tartare as an entree even though it. s listed as a main) - delicious. For mains we ordered the mussles (which were a generous portion), the butcher's cut of steak (the cook was done exactly as requested) and ribs (tasty!). All mains came with sides included in the price. We went to eat attracted by the characteristic and well-maintained corner, but the positive notes end here. First, the owner refused to serve the children's menu to my daughter, who wasn't very hungry because she exceeded his unspecified age limit by 2 years. Then, we were ignored throughout the evening, having to repeatedly ask for drinks and waiting for over 20 minutes to have our plates taken away. But, to top it off, my daughter, who had ordered a tartare in the end, had a severe food poisoning the next day... I'll spare you the details... Anyway, nice place, terrible...
