Le Bistrot Bourguignon — Restaurant in Beaune

We ate lunch here because the reviews were good. However, one person said it was under new management. They MUST have been right because this was a poor experience. Outside the posted menus show one price, Inside they are higher. Outside it says you can pay a reduced price and have a starter and main dish, and skip desert or a main dish and desert skip the starter. Inside they say "no, you have to have the entire menu". One wine was good, the other was average at best. The selection by the glass was a total of 4 whites. Everything else was by the bottle at full local restaurant pricing. The food was average. The Beef Bourguignon was a small bite or two of roast with a bunch of roasted potatoes and carrots. It was fine, but my mom does roast much better. The beet salad was just a single diced beet with massive sugar coating on it. And over cooked. The service was not good (though the bartender helped out the waitress with the attitude) and if the bartender had not helped, we'd still be there. Bistrot Bourguignon is absolutely wonderful! We had an amazing lunch there today, and we can only strongly recommend this address! The food was exquisite 👌 the meat was cooked (sous-vide) to tenderness perfection and seasoned deliciously. We truly enjoyed the Menu du Jour from the first to the last bite: it's filled with seasonal and local delicacies. There is a gorgeous open kitchen, and a fabulous wine selection. The staff was very nice and welcoming and we had a great time. As locals, this is one of our new (they've opened 3 weeks before this review) favorite spots and we surely will return often. Phenomenal restaurant for a fantastic stop in Burgundy before visiting the Hospice de Beaune! The restaurant is 5min walk from the Hospice, making it really convenient. It is a small restaurant with an attentionate waiter, without being intrusive, and you can sample some amazing quality of local cuisine there. On top of the food, which was divine, the wine menu boasts an extensive selection of local red and white to accommodate any food you'd have chosen.
