The kind of food that just feels right: hearty, healthy, fresh, delicious and a great value. It's surprising because I thought this place would be like a tapas snack lounge but it was the only place open late (it was already 10 pm) so we went for it and I'm happy we did. I saw some traditional options and my wife was in vegetarian paradise. We split three plates, thinking they would be small entrees, but we could barely finish: It was a feast. 3 plates and 2 glasses of wine for 38 euro: best value of the trip. We had the sicilienne tartine with tomato, garlic, pesto, and eggplant. I wasn't expecting much because I've tried that combo 100 times but this was special: powerful mix of herbs, some crazy secret spices (dill, oregano, cinnamon?), super fresh bread with crispy crust, salad with sweet-sour dressing and it all just pops and crackles. The camambert cossolote is rich, balanced out with a mix of tomatoes and bell peppers, like a tapenade, while raisins and honey bring this beautiful sweetness to the dish: simplicity and sophistication, hint of cinnamon in the toast. Finally, the duck confit cossolote: soft and buttery fall-apart meat with melted cheese and potatoes contrasts with salad: mix of fresh and fatty at the same time, strong comfort food vibes. They were a little understaffed but service was still good, atmosphere is wonderful on the plaza and inside has great lighting and decoration. It went way beyond expectations and if you're looking for a great meal for a great value, even late at night, (a big ask!) this is the way to go. Best bang for buck...

L'Autre Petit Bois is a true gem, conveniently located within walking distance of our accommodation. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by its inviting ambiance and vibrant atmosphere. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, the owner and staff were exceptionally accommodating in arranging a table for us, demonstrating both professionalism and warm hospitality.

The menu featured a diverse selection of dishes, all of which were of high quality—juicy, flavorful, and expertly prepared. Every bite was a delight, making our dining experience truly memorable. While we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, we hope for a shorter wait time for food on our next visit.

The staff were not only friendly but also highly knowledgeable about the menu, ensuring an excellent level of service. The overall experience exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Bordeaux. We are already looking forward to returning at the earliest...

Tasty food and nice atmosphere (between the trees) and friendly and helpful service. The breads are really good and come with a side salad (plus more bread on the side^^) I can also recommend the raspberry gratin desert. Unfortunately not very sustainable: the only thing organic they have is the fruit juices and don’t even try to find vegan or veggie options. Plus it’s a bit pricy though...

Darling little place next to a plaza. Not much outdoor seating so we sat indoors. Which seems wrong in France. But it was really cool. Kinda kitchy but fun. I got the Oeff Cocette. Which is eggs missed with something that was good. Look. I'm not French and don't speak much French but it was good. My wife got an open faced sandwich with salmon on it. Very good. It was a lot and she couldn't finish it so I helped. We were on the second floor with a nice overlook of the plaza. My daughter had an open faced bruschetta sandwich. She said it was very good.
