Le Plô is a restaurant of French gastronomy specializing in the South-West. It has two terraces and a ventilated room on the ground floor and a ventilated room on the first floor a bar counter. This restaurant is recommended by two renowned culinary critic guides, the Petit Futé and Gault & Millau. The manager and his team welcome you with sympathy and perfectly manage the influx of tourists. Their dishes are homemade and are made with fresh and original products from Occitania. Their service is almost fast despite the big influence. I recommend the Royal cassoulet with local red wine. As soon as you arrive in the city, make your reservation at the restaurant for lunch or dinner because at mealtime, all the restaurants are taken over by tourists. Read moreI stayed in Carcassonne for 2 nights this time. I regret not coming here for dinner on the first day, but I'm glad we arrived at the restaurant early tonight and luckily got a table. The dishes were very unique, with simple presentations that weren't fancy, but you could see every customer at the venue speaking highly of the food, nodding in satisfaction. Due to the colder weather tonight, we ordered 2 traditional dishes, pork cheek and braised pig stomach. Oh my, I have to say these were the most delicately flavored country-style dishes I've ever had. The meat was tender, and each dish's flavor was perfectly balanced, not greasy, and the portion sizes were just right. After finishing dinner, we couldn't wait and already made a reservation for lunch tomorrow. Tomorrow, we plan to order duck breast...
Read moreOur meal at Restaurant Le Plô was absolutely fantastic. We have been in France for a month, eaten in Bayonne, Biarritz, Bordeaux and Toulouse, and this is definitely the best in terms of flavour, portion & value for money. My partner had the 27.50€ menu, and I had the entree and main formula for 19.5€ - we had gazpacho, roasted Camembert, cassoulet, duck breast with honey sauce, and a cafe gourmand. We didn’t have a single complaint with our dishes, they were portioned perfectly & tasted incredible, thanks to the chefs. The staff were very helpful, friendly, professional, regardless the busyness of the place. Wait times were at a minimum. We would recommend this place & definitely go back if we go to Carcassonne...
