Brasserie l'Express — Restaurant in Cognac

Sat waiting for food for over an hour, issue repeatedly raised with staff as we watched new customers arriving and eating. Staff kept saying "it's being prepared", but nothing arrives.

Finally after going inside to find out what going on, a staff discussion found they lost the ticket/order.

Hopeless.

Update; obviously the owner read our review, proceeded to swear and rant at us, actually putting hands of me and shoving me.

Avoid.

Disgraceful!

Further update:

Having seen the reply, please note we thanked the waiter who tried to sort the issue, and told the waitress not to worry or take it personally. The only raising of voices or threatening behaviour was from the owner who was aggressive and vulgar.

Look close to home sir, you are not suited to hospitality, and judging by other responses to reviews, you are less than truthful when things go badly.

A shame, but threatening behaviour, aggression and swearing came from one side...

We arrived at 1330 when the tables were mostly occupied, but we were found a table for three. The menu offered a choice of two mains and a desert for 14.90. We chose that and were then told one main was sold out and there was only one of the other main. We were offered duck instead of the offered pork (again only one available) and the third member was invited to chose from the whole menu. The desert that was on the display was also sold out and we were told to chose from the main menu. It was good food. However the bill did not take any account of the fixed price menu and we were charged about 65 euros instead of the fixed price of 45 Euros. I protested but was not listened to. I was not happy paying an extra 20 euros because they had run...

I would never go there again. Ghastly food and service. Burgers came out almost raw, when they were sent back it was quite obvious that they had been microwaved as the buns were rock hard. When we complained and said we were not prepared to accept the food the Chef came out and was pretty abusive. Asking what he was supposed to do with all the food?. Making a scene saying that If we didn't eat it it would have to be put in the bin. And if we were not prepared to accept it as it was. He was not going to serve us any food. We left without eating as many people know. In France you can eat between 12 pm and 14.00 and it was about 14.45. If you were a tourist you would not be able to find lunch elsewhere at this...
