After a hard day, we decided to choose this restaurant for dinner. Our mood was great. Even the cuisine of this restaurant, which clearly did not correspond to the price of the average bill, did not spoil it for us. Along with the dishes, my boyfriend and I ordered two glasses of red wine. It was brought to us in small port wine glasses. After asking the sommelier why we drank 160 ml of red wine (as was on the menu) from such small glasses (the wine in them was no more than 70 ml), he began to convince us that in France this is the only way to drink wine. After our logical counter questions, he called a certain young man who served the restaurant guests. He responded to our question that if we had ordered a bottle of wine, we would have been served matching glasses for red. We asked counter questions in bewilderment, not understanding what we did to deserve their lies. After that the waiter became very nervous, his hands were shaking, his face became red. He kicked us out of the restaurant, calling us crazy. To say that we were shocked is to say nothing! Further, after rummaging on the Internet, we found out that it was the owner’s son. Apparently, this restaurant is deceiving customers by pouring wine at least half as much as it should be. At the same time, the wine is not poured in front of you. Dear reader, we would strongly recommend that you not go to this restaurant, so as not to be humiliated! Moreover, the kitchen will not...
Read moreQuite disappointing experience overall; we are St Tropez frequents every summer for the last decade and definitely would not return or recommend. Food is average and overpriced for what it is, both in terms of taste which was somewhat blant (filet de loup/seabass and filet de boef/beef) and in terms of presentation (tomate, burrata). Service was not good at all, neither hospitable nor at the level of fine dining restaurant which they pretend to be. We arrived at 8:30 PM and the service was so slow that our main courses didn't arrive before 9:45 PM. Yet despite their slow service, at 10:10 PM when we finished our main courses we were asked to leave without dessert because they wanted to give the tables to new patrons. They didn't mention this time restriction when they sat us and their service was too slow to make this possible. The table next to us who were patiently waiting for their main course and their bill for quite a while were also asked to leave. There are tens of far better and more refined, authentic and welcoming restaurants in the region. Sorry, this one doesn't cut it - it felt that we fell into a pretentious trap which tries to make as much money as possible from its customers resulting in...
Read moreThis place comes up on many lists of "Where to eat in St Tropez" but I just didn't see what the fuss is all about. The escargot dish was good, the deep fried courgettes weren't bad. A cannelloni of crab was drowned in a brown sauce. A meagre skewer of overcooked veal and a fish entree were uninspiring. Their appetizers seemed stronger than their main dishes, but don't expect to have more appetizers in place of a main dish - a main dish is obligatoire. The service was friendly. The tables set in the narrow laneway was cute if not lacking for a breeze which made it uncomfortable for me. We hurried through our obligatoire mains just to move on after paying the wildly expensive tally. I understand St Tropez prices are eye-watering, but I didn't feel the food here was commensurate with the price, even discounting the St Tropez price premium. To click the 100 euro + button on this review doesn't even begin to summarize the cost of the meal. It was disappointing despite all the "Where to eat in St...
