The lady at the front desk claimed to be the person in charge of the reservation. I couldn’t get her name unfortunately but her behavior was uncalled for and very disrespectful. The restaurant was clearly empty and when we asked to be seated 2 hrs before our reservation, she gave us a smug look and told us all the other seats were reserved. Instead she gave us a table that was directly under the sun when we specifically asked for one under the shade. Instead of respecting our wishes or declining our request kindly, she decided to give us a petty attitude and cutting us off before we could even finish talking. She said that the other tables were for people with reservations which I told her I had one we just decided to come earlier seeing as almost all the tables were empty and there wasn’t any line behind us meaning no tables were reserved for the hour we came in. She kept cutting me off and I asked if I could see her manager and she said loudly that she was the one in charge, which if she is, I hope the restaurant owners fire her or take away her position because if I was a restaurant owner, I’d want the person welcoming in our guests to be the face of my restaurant. She kept asking to see my confirmation email which I declined. And I asked for her to check the reservation on her own on the system she claims to be in charge of. And when I gave her my name, I’ve never seen someone look so humiliated in my life and she continued to speak a different language in front of us, which is very disrespectful, because obviously it wasn’t very positive and if she was taught proper etiquette, she’d know not to do that in front of guests or customers. We were then approached by a lovely lady who took us away from her and quickly offered us a great table (the one we asked for) and even gave us menus and asked if we wanted to start with any drinks. The food itself was average compared to the price, but we didn’t mind because the view made up for it. The desserts were the best part of the meal. The waiters were all great, but the lady at the front desk was very unprofessional and I wouldn’t go to this restaurant again if I’m going to see her. I travel a lot with my family and we visit a lot of restaurants, this is the first time I had to stand my ground and ask for a manager because of someone disrespecting me and my family. If you want my opinion, I say there are definitely better restaurants in Cannes to visit if you’re looking for all the above: food, service, and atmosphere such as scalini in the JW Marriott. If you’re looking for food and a view only you...
Read moreOur visit to La Mandala Beach in Cairns was one of the most disrespectful and degrading experiences I’ve ever had at any establishment. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with clear disregard and rudeness by the staff and most shockingly, by the manager, Tomas, himself.
Despite the beach being nearly empty, we were continuously ignored. We kept trying to get the attention of the waitstaff, who looked right at us and then deliberately turned away, refusing to serve us. Meanwhile, anyone else who even slightly looked in their direction was helped immediately. The discrimination was obvious, and deeply uncomfortable.
When we finally confronted Tomas about the way we were being treated, instead of apologizing or showing any accountability, he gave us attitude and disrespect and then said we were being rude just because we asked why he was speaking to us so disrespectfully. Imagine that: we were the ones ignored, dismissed, and talked down to, but somehow he tried to flip the blame on us for standing up for ourselves.
Thomas’s behavior was completely unprofessional and this is not an attitude that a “manager” usually has cuz instead of solving the problem he started it himself and he repeatedly told us, “We have a hundred people to serve,” even though the venue was practically empty. It felt like a pathetic excuse to justify their blatant lack of basic courtesy and complete absence of hospitality.
What happened wasn’t just bad service it was intentional disrespect, clear bias, and gaslighting by someone who should never be in a position of managing people, let alone representing a beach establishment.
Do not support La Mandala Beach. No one deserves to be treated this way ignored, disrespected, and then blamed for...
Read moreWhile vacationing close to cannes, I visited this great restuarant, located along the promonad with my husband and little one on end of June beginning of July. We went there at least 4 times. Everytime we've been there we were met with amazing hospitality, service, food and drinks.
Travelling in general can be a bit tricky when you have a toddler, specially with finding, for example, resruarants and public bathrooms, that are equipped with amenities/ services such as changing areas, highchairs, child menu, etc. To our delight this place had all that, along with friendly waiters, lovely food , amazing atmosphere, and gorgouse view.
The waiters were absolutly amazing, I wish I can remember the name of the wonderful waitress who was serving us. Aside from the fact that she was super helpful with emaculate customer service and a hint of british accent when she speaks English. There was also a waiter called Julian who was so attentive , and ofcourse the salt and pepper haired gentleman who was so sweet with our little one.
The salads looked amazing , the truffle pasta one of the best I have ever had, the Beef Tartar and Beef Milanese are both a must haves. Don't forget to try the Tiramisu it was so good.
I can't wait to go back there next year .
Thank you guys for the amazing experience.
Here I shared some photos of my Tartar which also came with french fries and the White Rosemery cocktail which is highly...
