I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to dine at La Maschou, and I must say that it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. Not only was the service subpar, but the establishment also exhibited clear signs of racial bias, particularly towards individuals of Arab descent.

From the moment we walked in, the staff seemed disinterested and unwelcoming. It took an unnecessarily long time for someone to acknowledge our presence and seat us. Once seated, we were promptly handed menus with minimal explanation of the dishes or any recommendations. It was evident that the staff lacked the enthusiasm and knowledge that one would expect from a reputable restaurant.

When we placed our orders, the problems only multiplied. The food arrived well past the expected waiting time, and it was clear that our dishes had been poorly prepared. The flavors were dull, and the ingredients lacked freshness. Even basic items like bread and water were forgotten, despite repeated requests to different members of the staff. It seemed as if our table had been intentionally neglected, which only added to the growing frustration.

What shocked me even more than the poor service and food quality was the subtle yet evident racial bias present at La Maschou. Throughout our meal, I noticed several instances where the staff treated customers of Arab descent differently. They seemed to prioritize and cater to non-Arab customers, leaving those of us from Middle Eastern backgrounds feeling marginalized and discriminated against. It was a deeply distressing experience, and I cannot emphasize enough how unacceptable and offensive such behavior is.

In addition to the racial bias, the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was underwhelming. The ambiance was lacking, with minimal effort put into creating a comfortable and inviting space. The tables were crowded closely together, making it difficult to have private conversations. The lack of attention to detail in the decor only further detracted from the dining experience.

Given the combination of poor service, low-quality food, and clear racial bias, I strongly advise against dining at La Maschou. It is disheartening to see such behavior from a restaurant that should embrace diversity and strive for excellence. As a customer, I believe in supporting establishments that value inclusivity and provide outstanding service, and unfortunately, La Maschou fails on both counts.

I urge individuals of all backgrounds to choose a different restaurant, one that appreciates and respects all...

I’m giving the place 2 stars for the food which is great every time but other than that I was so bothered by the hostess. Her attitude is rude and belittling. I booked a table a couple of weeks in advance and the place was empty by the time we came but despite all that she sat us in the worst table possible. When you come to talk to her she walks away and doesn’t respond. After 30 minutes she came to take our orders and didn’t even let us ask questions, she rushed us and was rude and mentioned the extras on the menu as “sides in traditional menu” which isnt (I feel like its a way to get extra money out of guests). She later started to seat parties of 6 in a table for 4 and continued to seat all the arabs inside in tables that clearly dont fit the actual party. At first i thought the place might be full outside but it wasn’t! I feel her tactics are racist cause I noticed her attitude with other guests (who are non arabs) and she seemed welcoming and nice! At the end she handed us a bill with 200 euro extra than our order and when we clarified it with her she just pulled the bill from us and handed us our true bill that was with her the whole time!!!!! It saddens me that the food is great and the servers (other than the host) are really nice but I won’t be coming back if they...

\gave it a 5star in april (miptv) as usual and tried to pre reserve for may trip already. So saddened by my experience after 25+ years of coming to le maschou, 2-3x/year ....usually my favorite restaurant in cannes (5star fantastic), i was Last here in miptv april 2022. but suddenly Now for cannes filmfest they require 200eu EACH PERSON prepayment for table of 3. So disproportionate, so for the first time i will pass/not visit in 25+ years, such a bizarre policy., hence my lowered rating based on change of customer service/customer relationships/price-value relationship. Still Love the restaurant but really was shocked by the new precondition - it seems to now favor big companies with big expense accounts with no room anymore for the longtimer loyal but independent indie customers.... i'll be back i hope, not during cannes, but i wonder if this is something intended, ??to turn away/lose the longtimer customers for this new huge $$ policy that takes the joy out of it before you get there. Ironically we probably spend lots when there, but this was prohibitive especially for 3 or 4 people.Several email and calls on it without response, just a 'take it or leave it' attitude. Perhaps not the most longterm loyalty...

I’ve read a few reviews here, and as always, opinions are mixed, and i was not to sure how it would end. While there are plenty of top ratings, there are also some negative ones, mostly criticizing the staff’s attitude or the pricing. Regarding the staff, I have to say they were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. As for the price, you can have a set menu for 105 euros, which I find completely reasonable considering what you get: premium hams, fresh bread, amazing vegetables, and top-quality meat cooked to perfection and served in thin slices. Of course, there are higher-end options like the Tomahawk steak or Wagyu beef, which are expensive—but you’re also paying for the atmosphere, the ambiance, and the whole experience. The desert however could be improved. The main menu apparently did not change since the 60ties!! The quality of the meat was outstanding, cooked to absolute perfection. The wine list is extensive and excellent. I must say, I absolutely loved this place. Naturally, it’s not somewhere you’d dine every night—but then again, what restaurant is?

Incompetence is the best word to express evening in this restaurant. Zero F's given would work too. We ordered menu for 69euro per person. They make us to order extra 69euro menu even one of us dont want to eat. No kids menu, but also make us pay for kids to sit. Very loud music that makes it hard to talk. Constantly forget to bring your drinks order but dont forget to include it in the check. Being asked for how to prepare meat, but bring all meat at the same condition. Include things that we did not order in the check. Cant count money properly. Such a disappointment, dont waste your time here. We even did not stay for desserts because was too tired and it took way to much time. First curse from 69 euro menu is just fresh vegetables in a basket with selection of sauce, also there was a plate of ham to share with a little pieces of melon. Second is by your choice. We pick meat and it was burnt from outside. Did not stay for desserts. My recommendation is to stay away from this place.

Making a mockery out of people who don’t know what good food or taste is… that’s the mission of this restaurant. I paid a lot for good food in one session so I know what the value is and why we should pay extra.. this place is selling non rated food at the price of Michelin star restaurant. Ok… this is very interesting. If you know the feeling of daylight stealing or if you been mugged ever.. you will understand this place. This is precisely an example of charging people extra not for good food or service or being nice place.. but because some Hollywood stars once dined by accident at this place. Even if I won a lottery or my father has made his living effortless … I will not go to this place. They have made it a rat race to visit this place and I feel bad for kids wasting money here. While I was there I didn’t see a single local or french dining at this restaurant… for me this is more than enough to say no to such a pricy place.. rest is all history
