We had a wonderful dining experience at this very nice restaurant, where the service was excellent and the atmosphere cozy. We opted for the meal deal, which included a starter, main course, and dessert for only 35 EUR—a fantastic value! The portions were generous, and the quality of the food was overall quite impressive.
Quality of Food: For the main course, I ordered my dish well done, and it was perfectly tender yet still juicy. The mushroom sauce added a rich flavor that complemented the meal beautifully. However, I was disappointed with the fries; they were overcooked, brownish, and didn’t taste as good as expected. Despite this, the overall quality of the food more than made up for this minor issue.
The dessert was a highlight of the meal. The menu offered more than 10 choices, which was a bit overwhelming, but I settled on the cheesecake, and it turned out to be the perfect choice—absolutely delicious!
As for the starter, I chose the marinated mussels (called "moules" in French). They were above average, though not outstanding, and I felt they could have been better. Next time, I’ll try the scallops instead; they looked amazing when the table next to us ordered them.
Atmosphere: The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with a vintage or old-fashioned charm. The dim lighting added to the ambiance, reminiscent of an old living room or perhaps an old tavern. It’s a place where you can relax and enjoy your meal in a comfortable, intimate setting.
Overall: It was a perfect deal, with generous portions and mostly excellent food. The minor issues with the fries and the mussels didn’t detract from the overall experience, and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. The pictures will speak...
Read moreWe went to Meat Cannes after reading great reviews. Unfortunately we do not agree on most of the ratings. Ambience is low with no music, weird lightning. Service is slow and with very few words. We ordered set menu but had to send both our starters back since they were cold (escragot and scallops). Shortly after we got new ones but this time both were over cooked to the degree that it was not edible. I contacted the staff and asked to cancel our main courses and desserts. We wanted to leave and pay for our wine. We ended up having to pay 20 euros for starters we didn’t eat- fair enough but that leads me to write this review so others won’t fall in the same trap as we did. We heard that Meat used to be really good but I assure you it is not anymore! There are many other great options in Cannes- stay away...
Read moreI guess what attracted us to the restaurant while walking by was that the menu was 100% home cooked, it was also very simply explained. As we walked in, we were not disappointed: the waitress was very friendly, helpful with explaining everything in English, we ordered steaks, cooked to perfection; the flavor of the meal was impeccable, the portion size was also perfect, nor too small nor too big. The side salad was deliciously covered in a house dressing with walnut oil, the wine was very flavorful. I´m really glad we walked in and had dinner there. A small improvement to complement the restaurant even more would be to finish the meal with a nice 100% Arabica coffee - single origin or a lighter more flavorful roast, not something as...
