We got robbed by a Romanian woman begging for money here and the staff didn't even seem to be bothered. The tables around us were all shocked.
Slim romanian woman who is walking in the croisette - be aware of pickpocketing!
She put a paper over our table and touched my girlfriends food with her hands to distract us while she stole an iPhone. I mean.. she TOUCHED our food!!!! No protection from the waiters, why was this allowed to happen!?
Restaurants are responsible for their guests.
Food was okay average, pizza was what you get anywhere, service MEH and atmosphere OK.
We had to pay full price for food which was touched by a stranger and not finished.
Not coming back, to say the least.
Edit / Response:
It is difficult to perceive this as anything other than an arrogant response, as you are to every critical review you receive. Crime takes place on your property, and even if you can't magically get the stolen goods back - you can still do your best to help your customers in a hopeless and frightening situation like this. If you are so aware as it seems that such situations occur in your restaurant area, the least you can do is help the customer in the best possible way. You are dependent on tourism, and when there are people from other countries who have unpleasant experiences at your restaurant, you should offer to help.
No warnings were given in advance and common sense has been practised. In all other restaurants on our trip the staff has always been telling the beggers to stay away. Since this is something you are already aware of happening in your area, I would advise you to make better choices in the future for your customers' safety, but also the restaurants reputation. Be helpful, offer to call the police if necessary, help to translate in case of language problems which definetely occoured in this instance.
I would argue that you know Cannes better than many of your customers. I would never blame a restaurant for the loss of a personal belonging, but you really have to deal with the fact that unpleasant incidents and crime are bothering your customers at...
Read moreThe spaghetti bolognese felt like it was from a can. We had seen some good reviews but we were disappointed about the food. It was also the only restaurant in the area without anyone eating (except us), which should have been a sign. Location wise it’s great and the server was also very nice. But unfortunately probably the worst food I’ve eaten in Cannes so far.
Edit: I couldn’t respond to the comment I got, so adding here. As the date state, I visited last year (2023). Maybe the menu was updated since and more people go this year since it’s a nice location. But when we went that wasn’t the case. But my review still stands since that was our food experience. I do know how a bolognese is made, and the one I got was just not for us (taste and presentation wise).
If the menu has changed and it’s different now, that’s great of course! If that’s the case maybe I’ll give it another...
Read moreOur lunch here was such a nice surprise. We were walking down from the Château de la Castre toward the port, wandered through a little side alley, and spotted this place. It was completely empty at 1 p.m., but we decided to give it a try.
We went for the set menu option (€30 or €35 per person for starter, main, and dessert), and it was honestly great value—especially for the location. We had six oysters and a plate of mussels to start, served with chips and baguette. Then came pan-fried prawns and seabass with potatoes and salad. For dessert, we had crème brûlée and lemon sorbet. Everything was fresh, tasty, and the portions were just right.
Only thing to note: the kitchen closes at 2...
