Chez Vincent et Nicolas — Restaurant in Grasse

After having gone through every review of every restaurant in the very touristic Le Suquet area in Cannes and following a few disappointing restaurants that have become too commercialized we stumbled by chance unto Chez Vincent et Nicolas and what a phenomenal surprise it was. There is obvious love into what they do. The food, service and wine where absolutely lovely. I personally think I had the best filet au boeuf with thyme infused sauce au poivre, my family ordered a variety of fish and crustacés. Immaculate taste, and frites fait maison on top of that. What can get better is the 2019 grand vin de Bordeaux Chateau Haut Selve from the Graves region of Bordeaux and profiteroles for dessert and capping such a lovely night with an offer of 1971 Armagnac by the charming owner, Vincent after having shared some discussions of our love for good (really good) food that’s made with passion of this family business! Thank you Vincent and team! A place I will always look forward to come to when visiting the beautiful south...

Absolutely loved our meal in this restaurant, it's quaint with a typically french feel. Just on the outskirts of the old town it's nicely accessible for people less able to make the steep climb, so you get the old town experience without the hike. The place is spotlessly clean, toilets were immaculate. It's a romantic looking place, candles on the tables, lovely decor and branding. We both had frogs legs to start, these were AMAZING! Both of our mains were cooked to perfection and so tasty. It's one of the few restaurants where I could have literally ordered anything from the menu. It all sounded so good and looked good as other diners were ordering various meals. Pricing by some standards is lower, I think it's priced about right although we did leave a good tip for the fab service and food. This has now become my favourite Cannes place to eat, forget the impersonal neon places along the front of the port, this non fussy delicious french home cooked food is what travelling to France...

Great food, horrendous service. The food we ordered (chesese burger, foie gras burger and thai beef tartar) was magnificent and would usually warrant a 5 star review. Sadly the service was tragic. We reserved a table outside, but they insisted we take a table inside. We had to attempt several times to get in contact with the waiters (there was no lack of them), but they took a long time to arrive. When done with the food we had to attempt the same feat again, with the result of a reciept which overcharged us by 6€. After recieving the reciept we waited 15 min until we walked up to the waiter to point out the mistake and try to pay. The waiter was occupied with taking shots with drunk customers, and we were clearly not the only ones waiting for attention. The great food was sadly ruined by the completely...
