Au Coin du Pain'tre — Restaurant in Les Andelys

Each experience is different and unlike the positive reviews (which got me into choosing this restaurant among others :-( ), going for a meal at this restaurant was not the pleasurable experience our friend, my husband and I had expected. To the point that I'm writing now a review ans speak up! We love food and we are very demanding, particularly when it comes to quantity and quality. My husband took a burger that day and asked for the lardon/bacon to be removed -which was possible as one of the waiter confirmed. But even though, they ignored that request and served a 'burger' which lacked not only flavor, but also came in a very wrong choice of bread which didn't help when it came to eating it, and with the lardon... My salad (which was my main course) was a plate of few salads, itsy bitsy chunks of cheese and a ridiculous piece of prickly pear... I almost fainted, so hungry at the end of it. My friend took the menu of the day which was composed of few pieces of beef meat and a small serving of 2 types of purée (one was a potatoe purée and the other one was a mix of 2 vegetables purée). To sum up, if there is one to 2 words to remember from our experience is "Few", "Hungry", "J'ai Faimmmm" or "Not Enough". And don't get me wrong, we are sportive, healthy and slim people with a moderate appetite. To continue, in terms of quality, frankly, the presentation was basic, the food lacked taste but was of satisfactory quality, as any should expect at any restaurant. And what was left in the patisserie section was not bad, as well as the café. So, in my opinion you can give it a try for a pause gourmande. Gastronomy is just not what they excel in. Lovely and busy at monets house. Thought we could have a drink and some cake in a local place. On a budget. Ordered drinks and cakes at lunchtime, response very rude! We ate and left quickly as we felt uncomfortable. Went to pay and bill was doubled! Checked bill and we were trying to be charged double for coffees we didn’t have. Went to pay and challenged coffees. 1st reply was “you haven’t picked them up, they are there”. I find challenging bills very stressful but was very upset by treatment. I went through bill and told what we had. My wife and I had flan, €3 takeaway, €6 eat in! We could have shared a charcuterie board for the same price! Asked if I wanted lemon in my water, said yes. Cost me €0.30. TAKING THE PISS!! Went to the church after and paid respect to the lads from the RAF how died...

Very good quality for a boulangerie. Prices are quite reasonable for a lovely garden terrace in a small town bustling with tourists.

I didn’t have high expectations for the baguette sandwich or tarte in a tourist village, but they were honestly above average. If they were in my neighborhood in Paris, I’d be a regular.
