Le Central - Trouville-sur-Mer — Restaurant in Lisieux

We would never come for the food at Le Central, truly for years, we would come for the atmosphere, the magician entertaining from tables to tables, the smile of our waiter, also working there for many years. The card has now changed, the food is still not good , the wine menu has also changed and dramatically increase its price but the worst now is the service. We came twice in a week, and each time it was just dreadful. We were offered aperitif which never arrived, our waiter was arrogant borderline rude, each time the dishes, the drinks, the bill took ages to arrive. After 30 years of loyalty, I'll never set foot...

Very nice looking place, with good choice of food among traditional french dishes. Sadly the insulation is quite poor. it was very family oriented despite going late (nearly 9pm), we could barely hear ourselves speaking. I would advise for lunch perhaps, or maybe get outdoors seating. The fish soup had all the delicious ingredients (croutons with garlic, grated emmental and rouille) and the salad was generous. Loved the fresh oysters too. So would advise for the food (apparenlty the dorade is a must) but a little less if you are looking for a...

We had to leave due to the disrespect. When I told the perfectly English speaking waiter that we are not able to speack French, he was not amused. He gave me the French menu and my German boyfriend the English menu. He would continuously insist talking in French with me even later on, but talked in English with my boyfriend. I do not know if it was because I am Asian or a woman... But we left since we did not feel welcome and had a lot of anger. We always encountered great hospitality in France, not there....
