We had a good experience here -- quick service despite being TONS of people, so big kudos to the 2 servers for dealing with everyone quickly and efficiently. The food was good, but personally I did not feel it lived up to the "hype". The biang biang noodles were folded and stuck together, so they were very thick and therefore also felt on the limit of being undercooked (perhaps due to being stuck together during the cooking process - maybe the chefs were rushing because of how many people were there?). It was very challenging to eat them with the chopsticks (even though I have eaten a wide variety of food with chopsticks my whole life), because the noodles were very thick and really hard to grab. My partner also got the little vegetarian "burger" and it was unfortunately a bit lacking in flavour / sauce. It would also be nice to see some additional vegetarian options. Some dishes had things like tofu and seitan, but there was also meat in those dishes. Perhaps offering those dishes with the tofu / seitan and without the meat would be a nice option to expand the menu to plant-based customers. :) It felt like an honest amount of food and was definitely a fun / unique experience, but because of the noodle texture etc, felt like 1-time...
Read moreSo cool to find a handmade noodle shop in Lyon! What a wonderful surprise. I was incredibly impressed with the noodles themselves, they are perfectly thick, cheery, and flavorful. The fact that you can choose your spice level helps too. I chose level 4 but probably could have gone hotter. Would recommend above zero even for people who can't do spicy food, just because the sauce adds flavor too. Don't forget their dumplings! They are must try. Great service, waitress spoke perfect French and English, was easy to order and the service was quick. Highly...
Read moreI have been in Lyon over a month trying every type of food I can. I ordered the soup with noodles and raviolis to go tonight. I was a chef for some years, so I’m not easily impressed. I was shocked at the incredible quality , flavor, and balance of this meal. Noodles cooked perfectly, dumplings heavenly, garnished with nuts, greens, all in the most delicious asian soup I’ve maybe ever tasted. I ordered spice level 4, without knowing what that was, and it was a good call.-spice that enhanced without overwhelming. Lyon is know for its food, and this was perhaps my favorite meal since I arrived. A couple seated inside only spoke English, and a young Chinese woman who worked there happily helped them with their order in English. I will return soon!
