My sister and I ate here tonight and it was horrible. I want to preface tge review by saying I have been coming to france frequently for 30 yrs so I am familiar with French service. My sister and I were seated and waited for over 15 minutes for anyone to come to the table while 3 other tables seated after us were served their drinks first. Despite asking for water with ice multiple times it took 15 minutes to get water and we never got any ice despite asking 3 times. I will say the food was just OK and not worth the price. I did notice that all the other tables were native French speakers so we were clearly ignored because we are native English speaking. I would have ordered desserts and more drinks but was so frustrated I asked for the check after completing our main course.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Balthazar in Cassis. The food was exceptional from start to finish, with the highlight being the gigot d’agneau — perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. Every bite felt like it had been prepared with real care and passion.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, but what truly elevated the evening was the service. Ewan was an outstanding server — attentive without being intrusive, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. His recommendations were spot on, and his friendly energy added so much to the overall experience.
