We had an excellent dining experience at Bonaparte in Cassis. The set menu was reasonably priced, offering simple but delicious courses that highlighted the high quality of the ingredients. In particular, the moules and the grilled fish to share were standouts—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared.

The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, even with my limited French. They explained the menu clearly in English, making us feel welcome and at ease. Every year we spend a week in Cassis, and for the past 6 years we've been coming to Jean-Mary's restaurant. There is no better restaurant in Cassis. Food and service is always impeccable. Don't assume that there is space because they are empty tables. Most tables are reserved every night. Make sure to call ahead. I've had some of the best oysters there. You can't go wrong with ordering the whole fish, usually seabass or seabream. No worries, the experience wait staff will filet it for you. Don't miss the "Crevette Jean-Mary"- shelled shrimp topped with olive oil and simple salt and pepper. The set menus are a bargain and by far the best value in Cassis. I've been here twice so far, some of the best dining you can have in Cassis. Duck breast and rib roast for main courses. Duck was delicious with honey and a bit of mustard sauce. The steak was incredible. Must get au poive sauce, the best!!!

Moules (muscles) were soon tasty and not heavy. No idea how this is done, but dip your bread in the sauce!
