Two part review. The hotel: We stayed at the hotel in July. Room nice enough, ceiling fan super powerful which helped with the heat. Manager very accommodating and helpful. The nearby church bell tower made it difficult to get a good nights sleep. I realize that the hotel can’t really do anything about it, but depending on how soundly you sleep it could be an issue for you. Price of hotel was excellent. Internet ok, not great. Location in Cassis excellent, you can drive your small car to the hotel, drop off your luggage and then go park in the free parking up the hill and take the 2euro shuttle back down. Very easy and no worries about car. By the way take the 9 calanque boat trip from Cassis harbor, you won’t be disappointed. Part two: the Restaurant- definitely go! Delicious foods and wines. My favorite was an eggplant burata appetizer. Pizza was beautiful. Clam pasta and muscles gratin yummy.

The outdoor courtyard of this restaurant is beautiful. It’s such a nice place to eat outside, with plenty of shade under the trees. The food was very good and we really enjoyed our meal. I had the shrimps and my friend had the lamb pasta, which she found delicious. Personally, I felt there were more pasta than lamb, but that’s just a matter of taste. Desserts were also good. The only downside for me was that the shrimps came completely unpeeled, which made it a lot of work to eat. I even had to grab a napkin from the next table. That part was a bit disappointing.

This is a review of the restaurant and management. The outdoor seating area is really lovely. The main dishes were good. Not amazing food after Paris, but solid fresh seafood. Ordered a margarita and it was really disgusting and served in a martini glass with no ice and must have been some premade sugar mix. Expected better from a high end restaurant. However the management is what ruined our experience. Restaurant was 95 percent empty when we arrived and they sat us directly next to heavy smokers and I politely asked to be seated at least a table over or somewhere else since the restaurant was basically empty. I know I am in France and people love to smoke but when a restaurant is empty it shouldn’t be a problem. The manager continuously refused and said he had reservations, but he reseated other people and the restaurant was still half empty when we left. I also politely let him know that the margarita was not good, but he would not take the feedback and instead put us down and made comments about why we are complaining and can’t just enjoy the nice evening, etc. and would take no responsibility or feedback. I just wouldn’t want to go somewhere that they can’t provide basic kindness and customer service and can’t take...

The hotel is ideally located minutes away from Cassis waterfront. Rooms are efficient, bedding is comfortable, and bathroom are spacious. Their is nothing charming about the rooms, it is more of a « sleep and explore » option rather than « stay and chill at the hotel ». There is no AC expect for a ceiling fan that is quite noisy, so we decided to sleep with the window open. It was ok as the street is quiet at night, expect for the church that is just next to the hotel, which offer a beautiful view, however the bell rings every half hours all night which can be disturbing. You can also hear what’s happening in the corridor and the neighbouring rooms, it was quiet at night so we did not have big disturbance, but don’t expect full tranquility.

That being said, the staff is amazing, available, and the terrace of the restaurant is super charming (we have not tried the restaurant, only our...
