Went here for my birthday dinner with my partner. We’re both vegan so popped by in the morning to check that was okay and booked a table. Came back in the evening and we waited over an hour for our food, and no one came to tell us about the delay or explain anything, no bread or olives or even ask if we wanted another drink! I understand there are only 2 of them working, and the waiter was very kind and friendly, but we just felt completely forgotten about and were getting very hungry. Eventually, when our food came, he was quite apologetic about the delay and took our two coffees off our bill. In hindsight, a simple acknowledgment about the delay and maybe something to placate, we’d have been fine but we just felt like they’d forgotten about us entirely! So unfortunate that our experience turned out to be so negative, as there aren’t a lot of vegan options in Cassis, the environment was lovely and clean, he was friendly and the...
Read moreCame across this place whilst visiting Cassis and searching for a restaurant that served vegetarian dishes. It popped up in the search results with one of the highest rankings, so why not give it a try. What struck us right away, was the very familiar character the restaurant had. It is run by a very friendly couple who run the place with a passion. The place resembles a living room with an open kitchen where she is cooking while he serves the guests. The food is simple yet hearty and delicious and we liked it so much that we immediately decided to return the following day. The menu- which changes daily and can be looked up in their Instagram story - has a choice of about five main courses, of which some are vegetarian or vegan and then there's dessert. Top it off with a pair of tasty cocktails and a good choice of regional wines and there you have it, the best surprise Cassis had...
Read moreLovely restaurant run by husband and wife duo - husband does front of house, wife is the chef. We were a big group so we called ahead. The menu changes daily and prepared in small amounts so we all chose from the options available. Everything was delicious. Many dishes accompanied by a homemade ratatouille, a local specialty of slow cooked mixed Mediterranean vegetables which was the best I’ve ever had. The lamb and tuna (fished in neighbouring La Ciotat!) were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We had a delightful evening on their terrace which is on a quiet side street in Cassis. A lovely authentic little place, not a tourist trap like so...
