Bar du Marché des Blancs Manteaux — Restaurant in Paris

I have been coming to this restaurant for the past 5 years, bringing both friends and business colleagues here to enjoy the food. Unfortunately in my recent visit the food and service we received was one of the worst we have ever had in Paris. First it took over 1 hour to receive our main dishes. when it did finally come the chicken dish was cold (it was supposed to be hot) the Boeuf de Tartar was not properly prepared, and the Salade Gourmande was too small to be considered a main dish and mixed with iceberg lettuce. None of these circumstances have ever happened to us before. This time when we complained the staff, instead of apologising they said "well you ate it", honestly we didn't have a choice when it was served over an hour after we ordered as we were starving by that point. After complaining politely the waitress brought us there bill immediately (not normal for Paris which usually takes 45 minutes to get the bill) this was a clear message they wanted us to leave for complaining. We asked to speak to the manager who said this is not normal, yet never apologised and instead brought us the cheapest schnapps as a consolatory gift. We refused to drink these and then the staff and manager refused to attend to us even to offer change for our bill. The food was really good! Unfortunately I had a bad experience with one of the waiters called Arthur! He was really rude when telling me I had 10 minutes to finish my food and drinks cause he wanted to close the terrace, and right after that he buffed something in French so I couldn’t understand. I see that they have to close the terrace, but the way he talks to people could be nicer, at the end of the day I spent more than 60euros and was treated so badly by him, so disrespectful. The same waiter (Arthur) messed up my first drink and I didn’t complaint or made a big scene about it, and still he treated me like that. Mind you that there were other two tables that still had their drinks and were not treated like that, nor were asked to finish their drink in 10 minutes. They should improve their customer service for sure. On the other hand the girl who was working there was lovely. I was having an amazing experience until I was treated so poorly by that waiter. Decent cafe right in the touristy area. The place was packed, but we got a table outside pretty quickly. I had a salad and beef tartare. The salads in Paris definitely do not live up to American standards, they consist of 3 pieces of lettuce and a ton of meat and cheese. Normally thats a good thing, but after spending a few days in Paris, you will long for a few vegetables. The beef tartare was pretty good though. Raw meat with a raw egg and some spices. Delicious. I chicken quiche was decent as well. It was a special that day.
