We, a group of three that stayed in the neighborhood in our visit to Paris, walked in to Bistro du Passge, hopping for a decent dinner. We did not expect that a restaurant with an unassuming name like “Bistro Du Passage” will deliver what turned to be a memorable dinner. This is even less likely to happen when Paris is empty and sleepy at the end of August. First bites of all three appetizers triggered wows from all of us. Second bite we realized we are very lucky. As the meal progressed the food was astonishingly good. For me gazpacho is one of the tests of the quality of a restaurant. It was a work of art, the best ever. The terrine of pigeons and foie gras was work of a charcuterie master chef, the best ever. The bone marrow appetizer, accompanied by garlic bread, was superb. The bar of our expectations for the main dishes was raised high. The duck dish (we order two) was superb. The fennel that accompanied the duck was cooked in a fantastic sauce, never had such a good cooked fennel. The whole dish was a piece of culinary art. The chateaubriand with its simple but magical sauce was superb, The deserts were all phenomenally fantastic. The creamless chocolate mousse was the best ever. The strawberry desert was fabulous. The coconut dessert was uniquely fantastic. We had the chance to chat with chef Tristan Crepin and thank him for an outstanding dinner. He is a top master with a uniquely rare talent. Very highly...

This restaurant uses only their own farm raised meat and sits atop a wine ‘cave’ so offers an extensive choice of wines. The staff were welcoming, knowledgeable and provided great service. It was a Sunday night on the eve before schools returned so we had the restaurant pretty much to ourselves - which worked for us but I am curious to know what it is like filled. I plan to return and experience it buzzing with happy clientele. All in all, I...
Read moreWe stayed near Rue de Bac in Paris's 7th arrondissement and were looking for a top restaurant nearby for our first dinner, and we found one! The Bistrot du Passage was just a few minutes walk in a quiet pedestrian alleyway. The service was impeccable, helping us pick our food, and attentive and extremely friendly. The food was everything I had dreamed of for our first night in Paris - champagne, red wine and the best Pâté en Croûte I have ever had. The meat simply delicious. Highly...
